At the entrance of the museum grounds, look through the plexiglass floor to see the ruins of an ancient Athenian neighborhood, which were artfully incorporated into the museum design after being uncovered during excavations. While the collection covers the Archaic and Roman periods, the emphasis is on the Acropolis of the 5th century BCE, considered the apotheosis of Greece’s artistic achievement. Wonderful day tour
Wonderful experience. my family only had one day in Athens after a cruise. We needed to get from the cruise port to the airport with all our luggage but wanted to see the major sites. We booked 8 hours and saw the Acropolis, Acropolis Museum, Temple of Zeus, Arch, University of Athens,…plus a wonderful gyro lunch. Kostas was a great guide.

Exceptional service
Theodore was absolutely amazing! He picked us up from the airport right on time, handled all our luggage, and got us to our hotel with zero stress. We didn’t have to lift a finger - he loaded and unloaded everything. As soon as we got in the van he had cold water waiting for us after our long flight. The next day he was waiting at our hotel to take us to every excursion. He drove us right up to the gates and already had our tickets, so we skipped every line. When we finished, he was right there where he dropped us off to take us to the next spot. I can’t imagine doing Athens without his service. It was the highlight of our trip. We consider Theodore part of the family now and we 100% recommend Exceptional Tours to all our family and friends.
