A first taste of Switzerland
Chris our guide contacted us a couple of days in advance of our arrival to introduce himself and make sure he knew what we wanted to do! We had a great tour of St Gallen as well as a hike above Appenzell and beyond! We appreciated all Chris’ insights and advice.

Extraordinary experience!
What an amazing day! We could not have been luckier than being paired with Chris Wilson of Typically Swiss Tours (typicallyswisstours.com). From his very first question, we knew we had an expert behind the wheel. Rather than just follow some predetermined route, he asked what WE wanted to see. After telling him what we had done already, he suggested what turned out to be a PERFECT day trip. And at each location, he even was able to suggest how to best spend our time. His deep experience, knowledge, and easy-going personality were so much more than we expected. He went above and beyond all day long. We cannot recommend him highly enough! It would be great to have him as a guide for many days. Do yourself a favor and contact him directly. You will be glad you did!

Totally awesome Chris! In Appenzel & Lichtenstein
We had the absolute pleasure of touring with Chris from Typically Swiss Tours, and we cannot recommend him highly enough! From the very first message to the final drop-off, Chris was exceptionally communicative, professional, and personable. He truly hand-held the entire process, making booking easy and the tour seamless from start to finish. Chris tailored the itinerary exactly to our wishes, and thanks to his careful planning and local expertise, we were able to do everything we hoped for in both Appenzell and Liechtenstein—and more! We sampled delicious Swiss cheese, indulged in world-famous Läderach chocolates, and even got our passports stamped in Liechtenstein, which was a fun and unique experience. He is not only a fantastic and safe driver, but also a deeply knowledgeable and engaging tour guide. His passion for Switzerland is infectious, and his attention to detail ensured our day was smooth, stress-free, and packed with memorable moments. Chris is simply awesome—if you're considering a private tour in Switzerland, don't hesitate to book with Typically Swiss Tours. You will be in the very best hands!

Why this scores 70

Appenzell and Liechtenstein Tour from Zurich: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Zurich.
How much does Appenzell and Liechtenstein Tour from Zurich cost?
+
Prices start at $350 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Zurich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Appenzell and Liechtenstein Tour from Zurich take?
+
Plan for about 8.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Zurich is not rushed.
Is Appenzell and Liechtenstein Tour from Zurich worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Zurich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Appenzell and Liechtenstein Tour from Zurich?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Appenzell and Liechtenstein Tour from Zurich suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Appenzell and Liechtenstein Tour from Zurich?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zurich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zurich and add a light layer if any part of the 8.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Appenzell and Liechtenstein Tour from Zurich start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Zurich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Zurich?
+
On Outty we rank every Zurich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Zurich Food Tour with 10 Local Delicacies, Cheeses & Chocolates, Private, excellent guided tour of Zurich (from CHF 21/pers.), Zürich Historic District Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Zurich?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Zurich?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
