10 Night Safari (2 nights Nairobi, 3 night Amboseli, 4 nights Mara, 1 night Nairobi)

My partner and I wanted to do a safari for our honeymoon. We got in contact with Native Afrika Voyages due to a recommendation from a family member. And they did not disappoint. They were helpful from the first email, and sent a range of itineraries with approximate estimates for each. And like a pic-a-mix we could adjust the itinerary until we found our perfect honeymoon. We had constant contact with Jackie when organising, and after payment was received we always had a quick response to any questions we might have. E.g. recommended clothing, anything we needed to bring etc. When we arrived in Nairobi, arrangements had been made to take us from the airport to the hotel. And after a nights sleep, we were taken on an early morning game drive to Nairobi national park, followed by a wonderful visit to Sheldricks elephant orphanage. Our driver for the day, John, was very informative, making sure we got to the full experience of Nairobi, eating Kenyan food, and seeing how the locals made ceramic jewellery. The following day, we started our week in the bush. Spending 3 nights at Amboseli national park, and 4 nights in the Masai Mara. Our driver for the week was Lucas. He was absolutely fantastic! He was really informative about each park along with the animals. We got to see everything! The number of big cats and elephants was astonishing. He was always available for a drive, and answered any questions we had. We've now reached the end of our trip and we couldn't be happier with our experience. Any questions/queries we had were answered promptly, Lucas our driver was there whenever we needed. And the organisation for the 10 day trip was perfect! Thank you for making our honeymoon so special!

    Outstanding Safari Adventure

From the very beginning, our experience with Native Afrika was outstanding. The booking process was smooth and stress free thanks to Mary, who patiently answered all of my questions and was incredibly flexible in accommodating our requests. Her professionalism and responsiveness gave us confidence that we had chosen the right company. During the safari, Milcah provided excellent back-office support, ensuring everything ran seamlessly and always being available whenever we needed assistance. The highlight of our trip, however, was our driver and guide, Lucas. He was truly exceptional. Not only is he an outstanding driver, but he also has an incredible eye for spotting wildlife. Time and again, he found animals that we would never have noticed on our own, making every game drive exciting and unforgettable. His knowledge, passion, and enthusiasm made the entire safari experience even more special. Without a doubt, this was one of the best travel experiences we’ve ever had. I highly recommend Native Afrika to anyone planning a safari in Kenya. If we ever return to Kenya, there is absolutely no question—we will book with Native Afrika again. Thank you to the entire team for making our safari such an unforgettable adventure.

    Best Guide in Kenya

Hi Lynn, I want to thank you for everything you did to make our safari In Kenya a memorable experience. I want to share my recomendation I wrote for Mike. He made our trip a joy. Mike’s Recommendation I have been traveling the world for many decades and one of the things that can make or break a trip is your guide. A good guide is worth their weight in gold, and a bad guide can really make your trip a drag. I have to say in all my many years of travel, Mike is probably the best guide I have ever had. You expect a guide to be knowledgeable about their subject, and Mike definitely filled that requirement, but there is more to providing a positive experience than just being able to regurgitate facts and figures. A good guide makes a connection with their clients. They put forth an effort to exude pride and enthusiasm in their work. They try to make the experience come alive and connect with their clients. Mike put forth an effort to make a true connection with our group. Every morning, Mike would greet me with a cheery, “Good Morning Mr. Dennis! How are you today?” He was always upbeat and eager to start the morning tour, even if we were still dragging from a late night and early morning. There were three of us on this safari in Kenya: myself, my friend Linda, and her daughter Alecia. Mike discovered that Alecia’s nickname was Steve, and would every now and then say, “Hey Steve,” which always elicited a smile and a chuckle from the group. The game drives were grueling. Every day, we were up at 6:00 am, breakfast at 6:30, in the safari cruiser at 7:00 or 7:30, lunch back at the lodge or in the field, and back at the lodge by 7:00 pm—followed by dinner, bed, and repeat the next day. This grueling routine was made bearable and fun by Mike's positive attitude, which inspired a sense of camaraderie among our group. We weren’t just tourists looking for animals; we were a team on a quest for adventure, and Mike was an integral part of that team. He was the team leader, the cheerleader keeping our spirits up when it was cold in the morning, hot in the afternoon, and dusty always. Mike had a great rapport with the other guides. He was frequently stopping to chat with them—many of whom were his friends—to get the latest scoop on where the game could be found. Twice he was called upon by his friends to pull a safari truck out that had gotten stuck. He apologized for delaying our game drive, but we all laughed and said, "No worries, that’s the most excitement we have had all day." When one of his friend’s safari vans broke down, he asked us if we would mind taking on his two passengers the next day to drive them to the next safari camp. We all agreed and had a good time visiting with the couple from Barcelona. It is this kind of selfless dedication to help out his fellow guides that sets Mike apart as a true hero. After spending the week in Kenya with Mike, we moved on to Tanzania and were handed off to another guide. The Tanzania guide was very nice, professional, and knowledgeable, but somewhat dull. He wasn’t a bad guide—he was very good—but he wasn’t Mike. Our time in Tanzania was interesting; we saw lots of great sights and animals, and I wouldn’t hesitate to give him a good recommendation, but it wasn’t fun like the time we spent with Mike. In conclusion, I have to say that Mike is a very special individual and you are very fortunate to have him on your staff. As I said earlier, I have been on many tours—good, bad, and mediocre—but the week I spent rattling around in the safari cruiser with Mike will remain one of the fondest memories of all my journeys. Sincerely, Dennis Link

7 Days Hemmingways Safari: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nairobi.

How much does 7 Days Hemmingways Safari cost?

    +

Prices start at $4,161 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nairobi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 7 Days Hemmingways Safari take?

    +

Plan for about 168 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nairobi is not rushed.

Is 7 Days Hemmingways Safari worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 34 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Nairobi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 7 Days Hemmingways Safari?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 7 Days Hemmingways Safari suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 168-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 7 Days Hemmingways Safari?

    +

Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nairobi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nairobi and add a light layer if any part of the 168-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 7 Days Hemmingways Safari start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nairobi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Nairobi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Nairobi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Wild 5-Day Safari: Magical Mara, Nakuru Wonders & Hell's Gate, 2 Days Amboseli Safari using a 4x4 Landcruiser jeep(with options), Kibera Slum Tour with Lucas. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Nairobi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Nairobi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in 7 Days Hemmingways Safari?

    +

Included: In-person Guide; Lunch; Dinner; and Breakfast. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

Does 7 Days Hemmingways Safari include hotel pickup?

    +

Yes, pickup is offered, or you can meet at the start point instead from 469 listed pickup locations in and around Nairobi. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.

What languages is 7 Days Hemmingways Safari offered in?

    +

It is offered in German, English, Italian, French and Spanish. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.

Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for 7 Days Hemmingways Safari?

    +

The operator notes: Specialized infant seats are available. If accessibility is critical, contact the operator after booking to confirm arrangements for your date.

What happens to 7 Days Hemmingways Safari if the weather is bad?

    +

It generally runs rain or shine, so dress for the forecast in Nairobi. Standard cancellation terms apply.
