Incredible safari experience with an amazing guide

My friend and I did a private 6 night, 7 day safari through Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, and Amboseli with Explorers Wild Adventures and we had an amazing experience. All of our interactions with Explorers Wild Adventures went very smoothly and the logistics were all handled very well by them. We did their "mid-tier" lodging package and each lodge we stayed in was very nice and had good food. The price was also less than similar safaris with other companies. The true highlight of our experience was our guide Zachary. He is a very kind, thoughtful, and caring person, and he is extremely talented and experienced at his craft. He has been guiding for 15+ years and his experience was palpable, he consistently spotted animals we never would have found on our own, and often saw animals that other guides had just driven by without seeing. He was very knowledgeable about all of the animals we saw, he knew the answers to our many questions about the animals and ecology off the top of his head, and his English was very good. He was also very good at identifying birds, which not all safari guides are able to do. He was good at positioning the Land Cruiser so we could get great photos. We learned so much from him and saw far more animals than we'd expected, including seeing the "Big 5" plus many more animals all in one day at Masai Mara. Zachary is a true master of his craft as a safari guide. Each park we visited was very different and it was nice to see the variety of locations throughout Kenya, but if I did it again I would spend additional time at Masai Mara, the density of animals there is far greater than any other park we visited. I would highly recommend Explorer's Wild Adventures for a smooth and unforgettable safari experience, and ask to work with Zachary if he's available.

Masai Mara and Amboseli - broad experience not just crossing animals of the list

We had an excellent experience with the Explorer Wild Adventure from beginning to end. I booked them based on a friend review and online discussion. But they won when their Communication was always fast and clear, all payments worked exactly as agreed, and they were so helpful with everything and flexible, they organized our internal flights, transfers, lodges, and logistics throughout Kenya without any problems outside of a package. Tailoring to us. We did a seven-day safari, with two days in Amboseli staying at Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge and four days in the Masai Mara staying at Mara Serena Safari Lodge, plus the travel between the two areas by plane! Everything was very well organized, and whenever we wanted to adjust or add something, they were flexible and helped make it happen in a second. The guides were the highlight of everything: Peter and our “new Brother” Zachary were absolutely amazing guides. They were knowledgeable, patient, flexible, funny, and very good at getting us to the right places at the right time. They quickly understood that we did not want only to drive around taking photos and crossing animals of a list. We wanted to understand the landscapes, the people, the wildlife, and how the parks and animals are managed. At the same time, they were always scanning for animals, spotting things we would never have seen ourselves, and making sure we did not miss important experiences. After spending so much time with them, it became much more than a normal guide-client relationship. We talked, explored, laughed, changed plans, took detours, and by the end of the trip we honestly felt like we were saying goodbye to friends. We actually missed them afterward. Kenya is also an amazing place ( one of the top places on the planet) but there is a need of support to get around and don’t lose time! Explorer and the guides did that seamless! We were incredibly lucky with the wildlife. We saw all of the Big Five in the first days, many babies of all species (including a baby rhino ( thank you Zach!)— which my wife absolutely loved — and on our last day in the Masai Mara we witnessed the wildebeest crossing the river. Seeing the Great Migration crossing had been a lifelong dream for me, so that was an unforgettable way to finish the safari and Zach make all he could between heaven and hell to put us on the best spot! What impressed us just as much was how much the company helped us outside the normal safari experience. At one point, we forgot one of our cell phones on a bush plane. This had nothing to do with their responsibility, but they spent most of a day figuring out where the phone was, coordinating with different people, and somehow getting it back to us in the middle of the Masai Mara. Both Serena lodges were also excellent and very well located for the experience. Amboseli Serena was a great base for exploring Amboseli and its landscapes, and Mara Serena was perfectly positioned for the Masai Mara and Mara Triangle. We did the Maasai Village tour with the company and was great to be there just us! Also the boat tour was great. However the night safari with the lodge was not as fun because there was too much disturbance of the animals and you almost can not see anything besides the lantern. They did not use yellow or red lights that would not disturb the fauna around. Also the walking safari at the lake was nice to walk around but a very different experience in a close environment and not felt natural after 7 days in the wilderness! We went to Kenya expecting an amazing safari, and we got much more than that. The organization was excellent, the guides were exceptional, and the experience felt personal from beginning to end. We would travel with them again without hesitation.

    An amazing lifetime experience

We had a fantastic trip with family and friends. It was a 8 days safari covering 3 national parks and the Naivasha lake boat trip, which we added as an optional trip. We were delighted to see the warmth and love of all the people including our super efficient guide David-for whom nothing was difficult, the chefs, the staff of the camps/lodges were very kind and helpful. The resorts were all nice and clean. I would highly recommend the explorers wild Safari for giving us an wonderful experience

    Amazing experience

The service was excellent throughout the entire experience, from the moment I requested information. The sales team leader, the logistics manager, and our safari guide, David, all ensured the trip was incredible and exactly what I was looking for. The value for money was also superior to other companies I contacted for quotes. I highly recommend them and would definitely travel with them again.

    Amazing Experience. Awesome

We went on safari in Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, and the Masai Mara. From beginning to end, it was an incredible experience, exceeding all expectations. Zachary was our guide; he was always a great guy, friendly, providing information, and searching for and finding animals that only he could see. I highly recommend Explorer Wild Adventures; they delivered on everything promised. It was an unforgettable and amazing experience.

How much does 7 Days Into the Wild Wonder : Lodge Safari with Private 4x4 JEEP cost?

    +

Prices start at $1,000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nairobi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 7 Days Into the Wild Wonder : Lodge Safari with Private 4x4 JEEP take?

    +

Is 7 Days Into the Wild Wonder : Lodge Safari with Private 4x4 JEEP worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Nairobi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 7 Days Into the Wild Wonder : Lodge Safari with Private 4x4 JEEP?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 7 Days Into the Wild Wonder : Lodge Safari with Private 4x4 JEEP suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 168-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nairobi and add a light layer if any part of the 168-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Nairobi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Nairobi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Wild 5-Day Safari: Magical Mara, Nakuru Wonders & Hell's Gate, 2 Days Amboseli Safari using a 4x4 Landcruiser jeep(with options), Kibera Slum Tour with Lucas. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Nairobi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Nairobi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
