    A great experience

A huge experience! Without expectation I travelled to the Kili, from the first moment I met Martin my guide I had a great feeling. When the Porters joined, nothing could go wrong. My team with Martin, Chef Koch, Peter, Neol, Bono, Fidez was absolute top. I arrived at the top with the best care and after 7 days also down again. I can only recommend it to anyone booking through a local, preferably at Tarry Adventures.

    Great trip up Kilimanjaro

We had an awesome trip up Kilimanjaro, we did the Machame route in 6 days and Peter, the guides, and the porters were nothing short of exceptionally helpful and welcoming. Beyond our climb, Peter was a huge help with recommendations and day trips from Moshi. I would easily recommend booking with them!

Well-planned, professional and great company all the way to the summit

When I reached out to Tarry Adventures and Safaris, Peter was very helpful and talked different options through with me. I wanted to do either the Machame or the Lemosho route and ended up walking the Lemosho route for 7 days which was great. Both Machame and Lemosho routes have high succes rates for reaching the summit and make good room for acclimatising which was important for me since I'm not used to high altitude. The 7 days somehow went by very quickly because there is so much to take in and because I just had a very good time during the hikes. The guides were really nice and we felt safe and had great company all the way. They also shared their knowledge about nature and wildlife and were professional and focused on preparing us for reaching the summit. So the best advice from here would be: Listen to the guides. Pole pole. And luckily, you'll have good company while challenging and pushing yourself. The food was also very good and well planned for the different temperatures etc. Thanks to the chef, the waiter and the porters for all their work to make this a great experience with a better chance of reaching the summit! It all made a difference. I would definitely recommend Tarry Adventures and Safaris for climbing Kilimanjaro. Peter is there to help you with any problem or question you may have, and the people that he works with are good at what they do. Thank you for an unforgettable experience on Kilimanjaro.

Great hike with great people. They made our honeymoon experience perfect.

The hike was start to finish fantastic. Cost competitive and great fun!! Couldn’t recommend enough!!! They sent us a kit list well in advance however to be sure, the day before the hike started, one of the guides (Jackson) came to our hotel to inspect our kit to make sure it was good enough. He also went over the overall plan for the hike and the structure of the team. On day 1 of the hike we were picked up by minivan and taken to meet the team (10 in total - 2 guides, 1 cook, 7 porters). They were all very friendly and made us feel welcome straight away. We hiked with the team day after day to get to the base camp. The guides (Jackson and Martin) kept an eye on us walking to assess our physical abilities so that they could manage our final assent and give us the best chance of reaching the summit. They were also both great fun, very professional and took a safety first approach. They decided we were fit enough to do the hike in 6 days instead of the original 7 which was great for us. The food was great and the chef was really good fun and spoke good English. One of our highlights was going to the main tent once we had pitched camp which was were the cooking happened and the porters slept. We chatted with the guys who were brilliant fun with funny stories and very interesting conversations. The porters were great and always happy. They all went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Our porter / server (Baracka) was fantastic and deserves a special mention. He was so kind to us both and tried tirelessly to help us. An example is when I was feeling a bit unwell with altitude sickness. I was sitting in a chair not wanting to move at all at the end of the day and he came and unlaced my boots to allow me to get into my sleeping bag. It was a small but very appreciated gesture. The team were fantastic and also got us to the top! There motto is arrive as a client and leave as a friend. It is 100% accurate! I couldn’t recommend these guys enough. They made our honeymoon hike so special.

How much does 7-Day Kilimanjaro Climb by Machame Route Private Guided Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $2300 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Moshi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

Is 7-Day Kilimanjaro Climb by Machame Route Private Guided Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Moshi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Moshi and add a light layer if any part of the 168-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Moshi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Moshi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kilimanjaro climb, Lemosho Route (8-day), Materuni Waterfall, Coffee Tour and Picnic Hot Lunch, Kilimanjaro climb by Lemosho Route (7-day). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Moshi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Moshi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
