This was not a city tour, but just a person who drove me from place to place. My driver was super polite. He always held the door open and closed it for me. We started by driving around the Parliament Building in Bucharest. Then he dropped me off, and I entered and signed up for the tour. They were expecting me. I waited an hour inside for the tour to begin with not much to do inside while waiting. The tour of the Parliament building was superb, but this had nothing to do with my signing up for this City Tour. I would have heard the same thing attending on my own. After the Parliament building my guide, who had waited in the parking lot, picked me up and drove me to see a church. Again he dropped me off, so I walked around on my own for a short time looking at the church and two other church buildings. Finally, my guide drove me to and from the Village Museum. I toured the Village Museum on my own as the driver stayed outside. This was not a City Tour, just a driver who took me to three places that I could easily have traveled to by walking and metro on my own. He was very nice, and he did answer a few of my questions. This tour was a huge disappointment as it cost a lot, and I could have done the same on my own for much much less money.

Eh, it was ok. Guide was a little stiff and non personal. He did give us some good info. The Parliment Palace was the highlight. The Village Museum was not as good as I thought. I did't see much of the city because I didn't have the views from the backseat of the car. A city map might have helped.

The tour gave me great insight into the city of Bucharest during a very short stay. The communication after booking was swift, friendly and precise through a phone call and text messaging, because I had booked it very short notice. The five star rating is very much earned by the tour guide Marius, who was not only very knowledgable, but also keen to understand what you are interested in and adjusting some elements of the tour according to your interest. Don't forget your passport. Visiting the megalomania of Ceausescu's palace which you need your passport for to enter is a very unique visit, even though it is certainly breathtaking how such a monster could be build in the 1980s... Bucharest is quite a unique place with some rough edges around a very interesting and in parts beautiful city. This tour gives you a very good introduction to further explorations.

Why this scores 41
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
6 Hour PRIVATE Bucharest City Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bucharest.
How much does 6 Hour PRIVATE Bucharest City Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $165 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bucharest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 6 Hour PRIVATE Bucharest City Tour take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bucharest is not rushed.
Is 6 Hour PRIVATE Bucharest City Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 41 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Bucharest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 6 Hour PRIVATE Bucharest City Tour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is 6 Hour PRIVATE Bucharest City Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 17. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 6-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book 6 Hour PRIVATE Bucharest City Tour?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bucharest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bucharest and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 6 Hour PRIVATE Bucharest City Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bucharest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bucharest?
+
On Outty we rank every Bucharest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Real tour of Communism, Bucharest Highlights Walking Tour, Top Gear Road, Small-group max 7 pax with Pick-up, Transfăgărăşan. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bucharest?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bucharest?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
