Amazing 5 Day Masai Mara Trip with Native Afrika Voyages
We recently finished a 5-day Masai Mara safari with Native Afrika Voyages. It started with an internet search and as internet searches go these days, it was a leap of faith for us at the outset. Milcah from the NAV office assured us from day 1 that they are a legit business and there’s nothing to worry about. And she kept in touch with us continuously from Jan till Sep, when the trip commenced. We were greeted at JKIA by Martin who took us straight to Kozi Suites Hotel nearby for the night. The hotel was decent for a night stay and the next morning after breakfast, we met Milcah at the lobby. Her introduction to the safari was superb. During the trip, Milcah kept in touch with us via daily messages/emails regarding any issues that we might be facing. And it was at this hotel lobby we met our driver/guide Christopher. The car for safari was a modified Toyota Land Cruiser – straight out of the movies. In the morning, we travelled through rural Kenyan countryside to Lake Naivasha. Post lunch we proceeded to Masai Mara. The roads were horrendous but as Christopher was a skilled driver, we reached our campsite safe and sound. The camp arranged for us by NAV was a camp named Ol' Moran, just outside the perimeter of the national reserve, barely 15 min away from Sekenani Gate. We had daily visitors to the camp. We did not see them but heard hoot-laughs of a lone hyena, rumbles of elephants, snorts of zebra in the night. A troop of baboons visited us every morning - inside the campground itself. Masai men guarded our campsite. In the morning, they chaperoned us from our sleeping tent to the dining tent. And after dinner, they walked us back to our sleeping tent. The breakfast at Ol' Moran had the usual morning spread of breads, pancakes, boiled veggies, eggs, baked beans, sausages, juice, tea/coffee etc. Picnic lunches were packed inside a box with fruits, sandwiches, roasted chicken, juice, boiled eggs, cakes which we enjoyed sitting under the shade of a tree inside the national reserve. Dinner was lamb/beef curry, rice, fish and chips, soups, boiled veggies, fruits, tea/coffee/drinking chocolate etc. The food was cooked and served by a lady named Caran, it was simple and we never had any digestion issues. The sleeping tent was serviced. Bottles of water were provided inside the tent. As we did not know how to hang the circular mosquito net, when we told them about the problem, every day since, someone neatly hung the mosquito net around our bed. The sleeping area was cleaned daily, and the attached toilet/bathroom area of the tent was serviced daily with soaps, shampoo, towels etc. Other than the odd mosquito (which we were told did not carry any diseases) and a lizard, we did not see any critters inside the tent. There was electricity and hot water from 5:30 AM till 9 AM in the morning and from 6:30 PM till 10 PM in the evening. The safari started daily at around 7 AM and continued till 5:30 PM. This is where Christopher was supposed to be at his best, but we realised he is more than just a wildlife expert. Our daily discussions started with the migration patterns of the Gnu and flowed on from nature conservation to Kenyan economy to global warming. Christopher’s range is amazing, and if there is any topic he did not know fully about, he made it a point to learn about it during the night and get back to us with answers the next day. He treated us not as guests of his company, but as someone from his family, and only because of his persistence, we got to spot the most elusive daytime animals - Leopard and Black Rhino. As Christopher dropped us back to JKIA, we realised we were not saying Good-Bye to guide/driver, but to a dear friend. Africa was more than generous to us with her culture, nature and wildlife, as is evident from the attached photographs, but this wouldn’t be possible without the superb efficiency and professionalism of the Native Afrika Voyages staff members Milcah and Christopher. We highly recommend anyone to get in touch with them if they are planning a trip to Masai Mara.

Great experience
We had an amazing time with Lukas. Booking was easy and we were able to see the big 5 and many more elusive animals. Lukas was timely, respectful, and considerate of our requests. I highly recommend this company!

Great experience! Book direct
We took a 5 night safari and it was fantastic. We booked direct and everyone was prompt and timely, payment was easy, and complication was wonderful. Lucas, our driver, was spectacular. He was a great driver, incredibly knowledgeable about the parks and wildlife, and willing to answer any questions. We would recommend this 1000x over

Amazing 5 day safari
We had an amazing time! We were very well taken care of by Serah while we were planning the trip. She came up with a very competitive price and an excellent plan. Our guide, Haroon, was also excellent - sharing a wealth of knowledge and stories during the trip. He worked hard to ensure we got to see the wildlife we wanted, in a considerate way and made sure we felt like the game drives were guided by us. Our accommodation in Naivasha and Nakuru was excellent and exactly as expected. Our tented camp was a bit more ‘rough and ready’ than expected (some broken zips on the tent door/windows), but otherwise fine. Highlights included the walking and cycling safaris in Naivasha and Hell’s Gate, it was amazing to feel so much part of the landscape. We’d totally recommend Native Afrika Voyages! Superb!

Awesome safari! Highly recommend
We had the most amazing safari with Native Afrika Voyages through Kenya! Booking directly with the company and speaking with Melvin was so easy. Melvin always responded very quickly and was so accommodating with our requests. We had to make a few detours and Melvin helped arrange them with our guide. Our guide, Layfield was amazing! So kind, professional and lots of knowledge. He was also the best driver, the roads are wild with bumps and traffic and holes and he navigated it so well and we felt very safe. He was caring and always looked after us. With our detours, he kept us on time and made everything work! All of the accomodation and food was great, the itinerary was perfectly timed, we saw all the animals and more that we wanted and would highly recommend. The big car was also very comfy, it didn’t matter how long we were driving for, we were happy!

Why this scores 83
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
5 Days Magical Kenya Safari Private Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nairobi.
How much does 5 Days Magical Kenya Safari Private Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $1335 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nairobi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 5 Days Magical Kenya Safari Private Tour take?
+
Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nairobi is not rushed.
Is 5 Days Magical Kenya Safari Private Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 78 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Nairobi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 5 Days Magical Kenya Safari Private Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 144 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 5 Days Magical Kenya Safari Private Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 120-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book 5 Days Magical Kenya Safari Private Tour?
+
Around 27 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nairobi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nairobi and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 5 Days Magical Kenya Safari Private Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nairobi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Nairobi?
+
On Outty we rank every Nairobi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 3 days group joining safari to Maasai Mara with a Land Cruiser Jeep, 1 Day trip to Hells Gate and optional Lake Naivasha From Nairobi, Nairobi Masai village Day Tour Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Nairobi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Nairobi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
