Great way to see a lot of Ireland in 5 days

We had a great time in the 5 day trip. Very well organized and moderately active - we saw a lot in 5 days. And having biking kayaking and walking was a great way to experience the countryside. Breda told rich stories that provided context to what we were seeing. She is passionate about her work as well as Ireland and its history and culture. Breda was really great! Trip can be for most ages and fitness levels.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We are thrilled to hear you had such a great time on your trip and enjoyed the mix of activities. Breda will be delighted to read your kind words. She brings so much passion and rich storytelling to her tours and we are so glad she made your experience extra special. Thanks again for exploring Ireland with us, and we hope to welcome you back for another adventure down the road. Perhaps exploring the sunny coast of Portugal together! Warmest regards, Marta and everybody at Overland Tours

An Experience Not to Be Missed!

We had an absolutely fabulous time on the 5 day South and West tour with Ciaran as our guide. We able to experience things that a “normal” tourist could never experience! Don’t miss this once in a lifetime experience of Ireland. Ciarans knowledge of the Ireland, humor and organization made it a trip we will never forget. Do not hesitate to do this tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your fantastic review. We are absolutely delighted to hear that you had such a fabulous time on this tour with Ciaran. It is wonderful to hear that you experienced parts of Ireland that felt unique and authentic, as that is exactly the kind of experience we strive to create for our guests. Small group travel really allows for those special moments and hidden gems that many visitors would otherwise never get to see. We are especially delighted to hear your kind words about Ciaran. His knowledge, humour and organisation make him such a valued part of the team and we will be sure to pass your lovely feedback on to him. Thank you again for travelling with us and for such a strong recommendation. It truly means a lot to our whole team. We hope to welcome you back to Ireland (or Portugal) again someday for another adventure. Best regards, Karina & the Overland Team.

Spectacular Irish Journey

5-DAY SPECTACULAR SOUTH AND WEST TOUR Our experience was as promised.....SPECTACULAR. Such an amazing country and wonderful opportunities to explore it. Our tour guide, Pat O'Mara, made our trip extra special by sharing his knowledge and experience as a guide, as well as personal by providing insights from his unique perspective of Ireland as his home country. We signed up for the active adventure tour and he did an excellent job of tailoring each experience to each individual's level of ability. Pat made sure we knew what to expect at each point of the journey, so we never felt unprepared. The size of our tour group was comfortable and we really enjoyed the companionship we had on the journey. Strongly recommend this tour if you want to see Ireland for its beauty, proud heritage and strength as a nation!

Fabulous Overland Ireland tour

What a wonderful experience! I’ve longed to visit Ireland but was concerned about driving on the “wrong side” of the road. The Overland Ireland tour took this concern completely away by using a terrific driver (the incomparable Pat O Mara) in a small (15 person), clean, new Mercedes coach. My adult daughter and I loved the five day South/ West spectacular tour. Our guide (again the fabulous Pat) was a fountain of Irish history and folklore. We learned about Irish fairies, standing stone circles, castle and folly construction, Irish sports and the rivalry between counties, and of course the role of the famine and English rule. As a history teacher I loved all this added depth when viewing the gorgeous Irish scenery as we drove from one stop to the next. The provided accommodations were very clean and small boutique type lodgings with excellent breakfasts. A special highlight was the border collie demonstration and lamb feeding. Also the kayak adventure in Dingle bay. This tour was booked as an “active” adventure but alternative plans were always available for those not up to the scheduled hiking, biking and kayaking scheduled. For those looking for a more strenuous adventure, this isn’t for you. But for those wanting moderate level exercise in the beauty of Irish parks, with a more limited time frame to spend in Ireland, this tour is for you. Suggest spending 1-2 days in Dublin either before or after the tour as this particular tour does not cover Dublin.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for such a thoughtful and wonderful review. We are absolutely delighted to hear that you and your daughter had such a memorable experience on tour and that travelling with Pat helped bring Ireland’s history, culture and scenery to life in such a meaningful way for you. Pat is truly passionate about sharing Ireland through storytelling, history and local traditions, so it is fantastic to hear how much you enjoyed the depth and context he added throughout the journey. We will be sure to pass your incredibly kind words on to him. It is also wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the balance of activities, scenery and authentic experiences along the way especially the sheepdog demonstration, lamb feeding and kayaking in Dingle Bay. Thank you as well for highlighting the flexibility of the active tour style. We always want guests to feel comfortable enjoying the experience at their own pace while still making the most of Ireland’s beauty and adventure. We truly appreciate you travelling with us and taking the time to share such detailed feedback and recommendations for future travellers. We hope to welcome you back to Ireland or Portugal again someday for another adventure. Best regards, Karina & the Overland Team.

How long does 5-Day Spectacular South and West Small-Group Tour of Ireland from Dublin take?

+

Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Dublin is not rushed.

Is 5-Day Spectacular South and West Small-Group Tour of Ireland from Dublin worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 54 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Dublin, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 5-Day Spectacular South and West Small-Group Tour of Ireland from Dublin?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 5-Day Spectacular South and West Small-Group Tour of Ireland from Dublin suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 120-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book 5-Day Spectacular South and West Small-Group Tour of Ireland from Dublin?

+

Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Dublin can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Dublin and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Dublin?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Dublin?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
