Hands down a full 10 for the trip and the team

I worked with Kingfisher Directly, Aashik being the contact point. We had a family group of 9 with ages from 8 to 80 with many different requests. Aashik helped to coordinate a great fully packed trip with all the sights a safari in the Minneriya park. To my surprise Aashik came on the tour with us as the guide, what a great unforgettable experience. He got us hotels and rooms that worked for the 3 families on the trip and made sure my parents were okay during the drives and made stops at fruit stands and water breaks. At the end of the trip he surprised us with a gift for each family and what was even better he sent me over 80 pictures he took of the group during the trip. Hands down a full 10 for Kingfisher and Aashik.

    Exploring Srilanka

I recently visited Sigiriya, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya. The trip was safe and comfortable led by a knowledgeable guide. While we didn’t visit the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress this time, the village experience in Sigiriya was truly memorable. However, I feel that Sigiriya Rock is a must see and should be included in future itineraries. Kandy impressed with its cultural heritage, while Nuwara Eliya’s cool climate and landscapes were beutiful. The hotel in Kandy was decent, though it didn’t quite match the quality of the one in Nuwara Eliya. Sri Lanka truly has a diverse array of flavors to offer, blending history, culture, and natural beauty!

    Rip-off.

Extremely overpriced. Money rip-off. I suggest everyone to avoid this agency. Trains are actually the best way to get around the whole island!!!! Or even ordering an Uber driver will be cheaper!

Response from the operator: Dear Sir/Madam, We apologize if any inconvience has happened from our side but please note that there is no force for anything and our prices are the cheapest when comparing with other tour operators in Sri Lanka ! There are no hidden charges as well in our company as you know and if there is any inconvience happened for you we are extremely sorry as there is no payments taken extra from you unless the amount you paid to viator Thank you so much for your feedback and we hope to see you again soon to serve you better with Kingfisher Hospitality

    Amazing Tour Through Sri Lanka

OH. MY. GOSH. I could write a book about how amazing my experience in Sri Lanka was thanks to Kingfisher Tours. I have traveled to 46 countries and my vacation in Sri Lanka, as a whole, is going to be my most memorable for sure. Unfortunately, I scheduled my trip to Sri Lanka prior to their third lockdown and was traveling through with the lockdown and curfew in place. While I thought this would hinder my experience, Aashik at Kingfisher Tours made sure that I did not miss out on any of the main things I wanted to do and see. In order to adhere to government restrictions, I was required to stay in level 1 safe and secure hotels. Aashik adjusted the itinerary of the normal 3-day tour through Sigiriya, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya to abide by the restrictions and worked with the government to ensure my visa and itinerary were approved. Upon picking me up from the airport, he showed me the city highlights on the way to the hotel. He had already arranged for my initial PCR test to occur once I arrived at the hotel where I would be quarantined until my negative result. Let me tell you, the Mövenpick Colombo is fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone! The day after my negative result, I was picked up by my lovely driver Aswar. I cannot say enough good things about Aswar. RECOMMEND HIM when booking your tour. You will not be disappointed! He was so friendly, knowledgeable, funny, kind, and patient with me while I asked dozens of questions about anything and everything. He was a very safe driver and made sure I was comfortable in the car the entire time. Aswar really went out of his way for me during the tour. He picked up on the fact that I was fascinated by the wildlife (monkeys, cows, elephants, horses, birds, etc.) and made sure to stop the car whenever he saw something he thought I may want to take a photo of. As I was traveling alone, he often offered to take pictures of me and had great photography skills! He even stopped at a street vendor and bought me a King coconut, which is native to Sri Lanka. Due to the lockdown, most of the usual tourist attractions were closed, but Aswar coordinated with a Jeep safari driver to make sure I was able to tour through the jungle since the national park was closed. Nishntha was my driver/guide and told me that he would try very hard to make sure I saw elephants. We saw FOUR wild elephants on our trip through the jungle as well as two different types of monkeys, many different birds, and a ton of cows! I absolutely love animals so this was a total highlight for me! It didn’t end there. We drove through the village and I was able to observe people going about their daily routine. We drove through areas with large rice paddies and stopped near a woman’s land who grew peanuts. Nishntha and Aswar asked her to pull some peanuts for me to look at. Finally, Nishntha arranged for me to have a meal cooked over a fire in the middle of the jungle. Another man aided him in building a fire and lighting makeshift torches (papaya stalks with oil and coconut husk) before a rug was laid down for me to sit on. Nishntha then proceeded to show me the process of pressing out the roti dough onto an oiled leaf before placing it on a cast iron pan over the flame. After it was finished cooking, I added coconut sambol to it and devoured it! Nishntha even brought bananas for me from his home garden. This was such a unique experience that I will never forget! Make sure you ask to take the keep safari with him when you visit! As stated before, Aswar outdid himself to help me see the sights. I was taken by tuk tuk to the entrance of the Rock Cave and Temple for a completely private tour. I was literally the only person there. The next day, I was driven up to Nuwara Eliya for pictures of the tea plantations, multiple waterfalls, the city, vegetable fields, the horse track, rubber trees, and more. It was the most beautiful drive I’ve ever taken. Aswar was able to point out everything on our way up the mountain and carefully drove us down the mountain, though it was raining very hard at some points. He dropped me off at the airport where I was very sad to say goodbye. Aashik and I have been in touch since I reached the airport, just so he could ensure everything went smoothly. He was easy to contact the entire time I was in Sri Lanka and helped me navigate the delicate processes of international travel during a worldwide pandemic. Again, BOOK THIS TOUR COMPANY if you are looking to see Sri Lanka and get the most bang for your buck without sacrificing comfort. I will absolutely be coming back, likely next year, and booking my journey through Aashik at Kingfisher Tours. Thanks again to all of my guides. You truly made this trip magical.

3 Days Tour to Kandy, Nuwara Eliya & Sigiriya: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Colombo.

How much does 3 Days Tour to Kandy, Nuwara Eliya & Sigiriya cost?

    +

Prices start at $400 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Colombo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 3 Days Tour to Kandy, Nuwara Eliya & Sigiriya take?

    +

Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Colombo is not rushed.

Is 3 Days Tour to Kandy, Nuwara Eliya & Sigiriya worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Colombo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 3 Days Tour to Kandy, Nuwara Eliya & Sigiriya?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 3 Days Tour to Kandy, Nuwara Eliya & Sigiriya suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 3 Days Tour to Kandy, Nuwara Eliya & Sigiriya?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Colombo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Colombo and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 3 Days Tour to Kandy, Nuwara Eliya & Sigiriya start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Colombo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Colombo?

    +

On Outty we rank every Colombo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Flexi dates on all 5 to 7 days packages for car and English speaking driver, Sri Lanka Personal Tour Driver in private vehicle, 08 Nights in Magical Sri Lanka. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Colombo?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Colombo?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
