Experience
The safari was truly memorable. We were picked up right from our accommodation, and all of our needs and expectations were met. Our driver, Jared, was attentive, knowledgeable, and amazing at spotting animals and getting us close enough for incredible views while always making us feel safe. He was always laughing and joking, which made the safari even more fun. He also knew so much about the animals and shared many interesting facts throughout the trip, making the experience both exciting and educational. We highly recommend this safari and especially Jared as a guide and in June (less people)!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear you had such a memorable safari and that everything met your expectations. Thank you so much for your kind words! It means a lot to know that your safari was such a memorable experience and that we were able to meet your expectations from start to finish. We're so glad you enjoyed your time with Jared and appreciated his knowledge and enthusiasm throughout the trip. We'll be sure to pass along your lovely feedback to him. Thank you for choosing African Home Adventure Safaris and for recommending us. We hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon!

Family Safari Experience 🦒
Returning to the Masai Mara after six years was a wonderful experience, particularly because of how well they organised our entire trip from Nairobi to the Masai Mara. They were responsive and quick to reply from the very first email, accommodating all our requests and offering fair prices. Everything was very well organised, right down to our hot-air balloon ride, which was truly special. Thank you very much, Albert and Jared. Our children (aged 10 and 5), well all of us had a really lovely experience :)
Response from the operator: It is always rewarding to hear from guests who leave with wonderful memories. It was a pleasure to be part of your family's return to the Maasai Mara. We are delighted to know that everything, from your first enquiry to the final day of your safari, was well organized and met your expectations. It is especially rewarding to hear that Albert and Jared helped make your experience a memorable one and that your hot-air balloon safari was such a special highlight. Knowing that both you and your children had a wonderful time means a great deal to us. We truly appreciate your kind words and look forward to welcoming your family back for another unforgettable adventure.

Highly professional safari operator with an outstanding guide
This was my first safari experience, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better introduction. We did a 3-night, 4-day safari to Lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara with African Home Safaris to celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary, and the entire trip was extremely well organised from start to finish. From planning to execution, everything ran smoothly. The booking and coordination were handled by Albert, who was consistently responsive and professional throughout a long planning process that involved multiple itinerary changes. All logistics, transfers, accommodations, and park entries were handled without any issues. We stayed at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge and Zebra Plains Mara River Camp. Both were very comfortable, had great food, and we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded due to travelling in the off-season. For the price we paid, the overall value was excellent compared to other operators we had explored. Our guide, Jared, deserves special mention. He was with us throughout the trip and was consistently calm and friendly. His knowledge of the parks, animals, and their behaviour was impressive, and his wildlife spotting skills were exceptional. At one point, I jokingly made a list of animals I wanted to see, and somehow, over the course of just three safari drives, we managed to see almost all of them, including the Big Five. We saw lions, elephants, rhinos (both white and black), cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, gazelles, and even the elusive leopard. On the final day, despite missing an early leopard sighting due to a late start, Jared patiently brought us back to the area later and we eventually saw it. That kind of persistence made a real difference. The safari vehicle was spacious, clean, and very comfortable for long drives. Road conditions were not always easy due to rain, but Jared’s driving was excellent and always felt safe. Nothing felt rushed, nothing felt chaotic, and the experience felt very well balanced especially for someone new to safaris. I would strongly recommend African Home Safaris. The professionalism, guiding quality, and value for money were all outstanding. African Home Safaris: 10/10 Guide Jared: 10/10 (and then some)
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing such a wonderful review and for choosing African Home Adventure Safaris to celebrate your 10th wedding anniversary. We’re delighted to hear that your first safari experience was so memorable and that everything—from the planning with Albert to your time in Lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara with Jared—went smoothly. Your kind words truly mean a lot to our team. We hope to welcome you back to Kenya again for another adventure in the future.

Why this scores 68
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
3-Day Masai Mara Big Five Safari: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nairobi.
How much does 3-Day Masai Mara Big Five Safari cost?
+
Prices start at $1,029 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nairobi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 3-Day Masai Mara Big Five Safari take?
+
Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nairobi is not rushed.
Is 3-Day Masai Mara Big Five Safari worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nairobi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 3-Day Masai Mara Big Five Safari?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 3-Day Masai Mara Big Five Safari suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 3-Day Masai Mara Big Five Safari?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nairobi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nairobi and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 3-Day Masai Mara Big Five Safari start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nairobi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Nairobi?
+
On Outty we rank every Nairobi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Wild 5-Day Safari: Magical Mara, Nakuru Wonders & Hell's Gate, 2 Days Amboseli Safari using a 4x4 Landcruiser jeep(with options), Kibera Slum Tour with Lucas. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Nairobi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Nairobi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in 3-Day Masai Mara Big Five Safari?
+
