    first surf lesson

Dan was a great surf guide. I had a fun time out there for my first time!

Great experience bad costumer care service

I had fun trying surfing for the first time however one other participant was able to add to the experience to buy videos taken from the instructor I asked the instructor the same and he agreed telling me to get in touch to purchase the media after I have been emailing and trying to contact them over tripadvisor and their own website but nobody is responding to any of my messages so my review reflects my costumer care experience rather than the experience itself for which i give 5stars to peter

Response from the operator: Hi Patrizia, thank you for the kind words about your lesson with Peter - we're glad you had a great time! We did respond to your message the very next morning with the link to purchase your GoPro footage. It's possible the notification was missed. We'd love to get this sorted for you - please check your Viator inbox or feel free to reach out to us directly. We hope to see you again!

    So fun!!

Keanu was an excellent guide!!!! We’ve NEVER surfed at all before (we are 48 & 50) and he helped us both catch the waves in the right time!! Thanks, Keanu, for giving us such a fun memory! Tip: bring a towel, wear your swimsuit under your clothes, you put wetsuit on in the parking lot.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the wonderful review! 🌊 We’re so glad to hear that Keanu made your first surfing experience such a fun and memorable one. It’s awesome that you both caught some waves! We appreciate the helpful tip for future guests too. Hope to see you back for more surfing adventures soon! 🏄‍♂️✨

2-Hour Group Surf Lesson in Venice Beach: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santa Monica.

How much does 2-Hour Group Surf Lesson in Venice Beach cost?

    +

Prices start at $69 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santa Monica usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 2-Hour Group Surf Lesson in Venice Beach take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santa Monica is not rushed.

Is 2-Hour Group Surf Lesson in Venice Beach worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santa Monica, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 2-Hour Group Surf Lesson in Venice Beach?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 2-Hour Group Surf Lesson in Venice Beach suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 2-Hour Group Surf Lesson in Venice Beach?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santa Monica can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santa Monica and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 2-Hour Group Surf Lesson in Venice Beach start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santa Monica within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Santa Monica?

    +

Santa Monica is where most LA coast tours start: beach bike and e-bike rides to Venice, surf lessons, food walks on Third Street and open-top runs up Pacific Coast Highway. On Outty we rank every Santa Monica experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Los Angeles Guided City Tour with 4 Stops and Free Time, Half Day Best of Los Angeles City Tour from Santa Monica, Hollywood, Beverly Hills & Celebrity Homes Tour by Open Air Bus. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Santa Monica?

    +

March to May and September to November, dodging the June marine layer. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Santa Monica?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
