Gokyo Lakes and Everest Base Camp with Nepal Gateway Trekking: a very good idea!

We did the combined Gokyo Lakes and Everest Base Camp trek with Nepal Gateway Trekking, and I can only recommend them. Everything started well before the departure: Ram answered our questions via WhatsApp with impressive speed and gave us good advice on the choice of trek. Once there, everything followed: our guide Nir and our porter Char were excellent throughout the journey. Nir managed the pace perfectly and shared plenty of interesting info about the region. The lodges were well chosen, the itinerary well thought out, and the communication always clear. After the trek, we stayed a few days in Kathmandu and Ram took us back to the airport. Five-star experience.

    Great company, great experience

A friend and I did the Everest Base Camp trek. Everything went smoothly, starting with the airport pickup to decent accommodation in Kathmandu. Our guide was very knowledgeable and good entertainment, and our porter was an absolute machine! The guide took good care of my friend and knew what to do when he started suffering altitude sickness. Near the end, when bad weather was coming in, Ram was able to use his network of contacts to get us a helicopter ride off the mountain at short notice so we made our flights back. A great experience and an amazing hike, Nepal Gateway were flawless.

Great experience with Nepal gateway trekking

Nepal gateway trekking organised a great trek for Renjo pass and Gokyo Ri, which was an amazing hike with splendid views. All went very smooth, perfect communication, greetings and a very nice hotel in Kathmandu, transfers to Lukla and nice teahouses in Himalayas. Naibin was a great companion during the 10 days hike. They support was crucial arranging an alternative departure with a helicopter back to Kathmandu, as Lukla airport was closed for 2 days due to weather. All in all, excellent experience, they are smaller agency, hence are very responsive, flexible and can accomodate requests, which was essential for my hike. Hope to trek with them again.

A perfect hike on the Gokyo & Everest Base Camp Trek

A good year ago we contacted Ram, the manager of Nepal Gateway Trekking. Aries always answers very quickly, and based on his advice we finally chose the Gokyo & Everest Base Camp Trek. Until the start of the trip, all questions were answered quickly and clearly. Once we arrived in Kathmandu, a taxi was waiting to take us to the hotel and we also got a clear explanation about the further course of our trek. And what an experience! Nir, our guide, took everything into account. He adjusted the pace when things got physically demanding, he followed our health closely, and was always ready to give some explanation about places or events, whether during or after the walks. In the teahouses he made sure that we were always served well and quickly and that we had good bedrooms. He also gave us space to do our own thing. In addition to our guide Nir, there was also our porter Unique who brought our luggage safely to the next destination every day. All this combined with the beautiful surroundings and culture made for experience that you rarely experience in your life, all thanks to Nepal Gateway Trekking!

Our Everest Base Camp journey with Nepal Gateway Trekking was unforgettable. Ram Adhikari and his highly trained Sherpa

Our trip to Everest Base Camp with Nepal Gateway trekking was an ‘experience of the lifetime’! Ram Adhikari and his staff of extraordinarily well trained Sherpa guides took care of every detail. Our excursion in Kathmandu, flight to Lukla followed by multiple days of trek via Namche Bazaar to EBC and Kala Pathar, were meticulously planned. Guides provided personalized attention to make the trip memorable despite challenges faced by a few of our team members. Nepal Gateway folks immediately pivoted and made alternate arrangements to respond to issues in real-time. Accommodations were ‘best of class’ at each location with private bathrooms, heated blankets and outstanding meals. Several of our team members are planning repeat excursions with Nepal Gateway. Highly recommended for trekking trips at all levels of difficulty across Nepal!

14 Days Guided Adventure Everest Base Camp Trek: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does 14 Days Guided Adventure Everest Base Camp Trek cost?

    +

Prices start at $1,580 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 14 Days Guided Adventure Everest Base Camp Trek take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is 14 Days Guided Adventure Everest Base Camp Trek worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 14 Days Guided Adventure Everest Base Camp Trek?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 14 Days Guided Adventure Everest Base Camp Trek suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 14 Days Guided Adventure Everest Base Camp Trek?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 14 Days Guided Adventure Everest Base Camp Trek start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kathmandu Sightseeing | UNESCO World Heritage sites Private/Group, Manaslu Circuit Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek: Private Group & Discounte Price. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
