A total scam – no accountability, no service, no safety

My nightmare trip with Exciting Africa Holidays 1. Broken-down safari vehicles: The cars were ancient and broke down multiple times inside national parks, wasting hours of our trip. Zero regard for passenger safety. 2. Rude, demanding drivers: Instead of guiding us, they spent the whole trip complaining and aggressively begging for tips – made the entire experience uncomfortable and tense. 3. Financial rip-off: They took full payment upfront, then completely stopped responding to any questions or requests. Any minor change to the itinerary came with ridiculous extra charges. 4. THE BIGGEST RED FLAG: This agency is NOT a member of the Kenya Association of Tour Operators (KATO). That means no regulatory body in Kenya holds them accountable. When things went wrong – and they went wrong repeatedly – there was absolutely no one to complain to. No refund, no apology, nothing. My strong advice to all travelers: Before booking ANY safari, demand their KATO membership number. If they can't provide it, walk away. You have zero protection. Save yourself the money and stress – stay far away from Exciting Africa Holidays.

    Great value for Unique Experiences

This itinerary offers an excellent, well-rounded East African safari experience at an affordable cost. It combines Kenya’s iconic Masai Mara National Reserve with Tanzania’s vast Serengeti National Park, giving strong chances to see the Big Five and, seasonally, the Great Migration. Scenic highlights like Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli National Park add visual appeal. Budget accommodations (camps/lodges) help keep costs low, though travel days can be long and sometimes tiring. Overall, it’s a great value itinerary—rich in wildlife, diverse landscapes, and cross-border adventure.

Response from the operator: Thak you for your great remarks .

    A journey into True Wilderness

‎This safari felt like stepping into a world that still belongs entirely to nature. The landscapes were wide and open, filled with life and movement. Wildlife sightings happened naturally throughout the day, creating moments of excitement and wonder. ‎ ‎Having to watch animals live freely in their natural environment felt both thrilling and humbling. Cultural interactions also added warmth and authenticity to the journey, allowing us to learn about communities who have lived alongside wildlife for generations. ‎ ‎The entire experience felt genuine and meaningful. It was the kind of adventure that reminds you how incredible the natural world truly is.

Response from the operator: Thanks alot for your outpouring great feedback we appreciate all. Thanks in advance

    Best Trip I’ve Ever Done!!!!!

This is by far the very best tour in all of Africa. From the booming to the shcedual to the guides everything was perfect. The thing that stood out the most was the communication. From the beginning I was met with Alex who went over everything with me and asked if I had any questions before I even met up with the group. From there I had Alex’s constant support the entire trip anytime I had a question or a worry he was on it!! I can’t thank you enough Alex, as a 23 year old woman traveling alone knowing you were just a message away calmed me so much. Then my guides- Geoffrey was incredible. All my guides were amazing but Geoffrey and Mike were just the absolute best. They made the trip, not just knowledge about the animals but also about the country. Extremely personable, organized and very very knowledgeable. Nature gives what it gives so I can’t credit the company but I saw almost everything in just my first two hours of the Masai Mara. Then every single day I just saw so many animals!! And I went in February and I saw baby animals everywhere. Every step of the way I felt safe and supported and I will absolutely go back. And seriously if you’re a women solo traveling I would really recommend them just because of the great communication!!

Response from the operator: Thank you, Capri, for your sincere and wonderful review! We truly appreciate your kind words. We look forward to welcoming you and your friends again

13 Days Best of Kenya and Tanzania Budget Safari: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nairobi.

How much does 13 Days Best of Kenya and Tanzania Budget Safari cost?

    +

Prices start at $3985 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nairobi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 13 Days Best of Kenya and Tanzania Budget Safari take?

    +

Plan for about 312 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nairobi is not rushed.

Is 13 Days Best of Kenya and Tanzania Budget Safari worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 30 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nairobi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 13 Days Best of Kenya and Tanzania Budget Safari?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 13 Days Best of Kenya and Tanzania Budget Safari suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 312-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 13 Days Best of Kenya and Tanzania Budget Safari?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nairobi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nairobi and add a light layer if any part of the 312-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 13 Days Best of Kenya and Tanzania Budget Safari start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nairobi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Nairobi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Nairobi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 3 days group joining safari to Maasai Mara with a Land Cruiser Jeep, 1 Day trip to Hells Gate and optional Lake Naivasha From Nairobi, Nairobi Masai village Day Tour Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Nairobi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Nairobi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
