Do not waste your time and money
A warning for anyone considering Pathway Safaris; our approximately two-week Kenya and Tanzania safari did not match the itinerary we paid for. We missed three scheduled evening drives, a visit to the Karen Blixen museum, and airport transportation. Several visits described as full-day” safaris lasted 2-4 hours , and the packed itinerary caused us to miss other planned and paid for experiences. We booked a private photography safari, but our guide Ibriham repeatedly declined requests to stop for photos. On one occasion, he accelerated while I was standing actively photographing throwing me and my camera inside the vehicle. I injured my wrist and back. He also refused restroom stops and used his phone constantly while on safari and while driving, which made us feel unsafe. Several accommodations had cleanliness, plumbing, or electrical problems. We raised these concerns with Andrew at Pathway Safaris and are still trying to resolve them despite his complete unwillingness to comply with his contract obligations. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend the company.

Senior Women Rule
Myself and 4 of my friends (the grandma gang) booked a 12 day safari with Pathways Safari. We were able to have clear communication with Andrew he met every single need and answered our endless questions over our 12 day trip. Surprisingly this big adventure was easy and comfortable for all these senior women. Our food was delicious and fresh our accommodations were clean and pleasant with amazing staff at each lodge we visited, October seemed perfect to see the end of the migration and have less tourists. We saw so much of Kenya, an abundance of animals we also were able to bring a bit of joy with Andrew helping us bring soccer balls to kids in schools and at the Marsi tribe we visited. A true highlight for each of us… I must mention our driver Ibrahim he kept us laughing and found bathrooms whenever we needed (that’s important) Kenya and Kenyan people are truly amazing Thank you Pathways

Best Safari Ever
I have NEVER been on such a wonderful experience as this in all my life. It's literally the trip of a lifetime. My wife put this trip together for us and we shared our experience with 20 others in four open road vehicles. What made it completely wondeful was Andrew and his crew of drivers and assistants. They are friendly, very knowledgable and took the initiative always to find us the best locations where the local wildlife could be viewed, most times, without mah other open road vehicles in our way. Our trip took us from Nairobi to Mombasa. We visited no less than 6 conservation preserves and stayed in a couple of swanky hotels but mostly in lodges with glamorous tent setups. My wife and I highly recommend taking a Safari and doing it with Andrew and his crew from Pathway Safaris.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your positive reviews. The best wildlife safari and beach hotel package you all had !!!!

13 Days Photographers safari: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nairobi.
How much does 13 Days Photographers safari cost?
+
Prices start at $3,400 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nairobi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 13 Days Photographers safari take?
+
Plan for about 312 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nairobi is not rushed.
Is 13 Days Photographers safari worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nairobi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 13 Days Photographers safari?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 13 Days Photographers safari suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 312-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 13 Days Photographers safari?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nairobi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nairobi and add a light layer if any part of the 312-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 13 Days Photographers safari start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nairobi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Nairobi?
+
On Outty we rank every Nairobi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Wild 5-Day Safari: Magical Mara, Nakuru Wonders & Hell's Gate, 2 Days Amboseli Safari using a 4x4 Landcruiser jeep(with options), Kibera Slum Tour with Lucas. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Nairobi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Nairobi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
