    What you'll see and do

    1. Caoling Historic Trail (Tsaoling Trail)

Caoling Historic Trail is a historic mountain trail connecting Gongliao in New Taipei City and Dali in Yilan County. Dating back to the Qing Dynasty, it is one of the few remaining historic trails in Taiwan. Today, the trail is a popular hiking route offering beautiful mountain scenery and a chance to experience Taiwan’s natural and cultural heritage. For this tour, we will hike from Dali Tiangong Temple to the Tiger Character Stele and return along the same route. The round trip is about 3 km and takes approximately 3 hours. Hiking poles and rain gear are recommended. Please note that the blooming silver grass is a natural seasonal phenomenon, so the scenery may vary depending on the day.

    2. Dali Tiangong Temple, also known as Qingyun Temple, is one of the most famous landmarks in Yilan and is located along the coastal highway. Surrounded by the lush green mountains of Caoling and facing the vast Pacific Ocean, the temple offers beautiful views of Turtle Island. With its impressive architecture and stunning scenery, it is an important cultural and spiritual landmark in the area. The temple is dedicated to the Jade Emperor and serves as a major local center of worship. Around the temple, visitors can also find small shops selling local specialties and traditional snacks, making it a great place to experience both the culture and flavors of northeastern Taiwan.

    3. Daxiyugangxiuxian Park

Daxi Fishing Port is the second-largest fishing port in Yilan. The newer harbor has modern facilities and a fish market where fresh catches are auctioned and traded, while the old harbor is mainly used by local fishermen. Daxi is famous for its wide variety of shrimp and incredibly fresh seafood. If you like seafood, this is a great place to try some local catches and enjoy the fresh flavors of the northeast coast.

      90 minutes here

    4. No. 9 Café is a seaside café in Wai’ao, right next to the beach. From the café, you can enjoy views of Turtle Island and sometimes watch paragliders landing nearby. It’s a great place to relax, have a coffee, walk along the beach, or simply sit back and enjoy the ocean view.

      60 minutes here

    5. Tangweigou Hot Spring Park is located in the heart of Jiaoxi’s hot spring area. Natural hot spring water flows through the park, creating a relaxing atmosphere with steam rising from the water. The park has beautiful riverside areas, wooden pavilions, and hot spring foot baths. It’s a great place to take a break, soak your feet, and relax after hiking.

Yilan Mountain Trail, Ocean Views & Hot Spring Foot Soak Day Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Taipei.

How much does Yilan Mountain Trail, Ocean Views & Hot Spring Foot Soak Day Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $60 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Taipei usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Yilan Mountain Trail, Ocean Views & Hot Spring Foot Soak Day Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Taipei is not rushed.

Is Yilan Mountain Trail, Ocean Views & Hot Spring Foot Soak Day Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (0/5 across 0 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable family friendly in Taipei, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Yilan Mountain Trail, Ocean Views & Hot Spring Foot Soak Day Tour?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Yilan Mountain Trail, Ocean Views & Hot Spring Foot Soak Day Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Yilan Mountain Trail, Ocean Views & Hot Spring Foot Soak Day Tour?

    +

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Taipei can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Taipei and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Yilan Mountain Trail, Ocean Views & Hot Spring Foot Soak Day Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Taipei within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Taipei?

    +

On Outty we rank every Taipei experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Private Custom Taipei City Tour, Private Tour to Jiufen, Yehliu Geopark, and Pingxi, Full-Day Private Northern Taiwan Tour from Taipei with Pickup. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Taipei?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Taipei?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
