    Tour with ‘tweens

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our safari guide, Shawn. He kept our boys, ages 10 and 13, engaged for the entire 12 hour tour day. He went out of his way to discuss topics of interest to our family and showed us all sites we were most interested in. He explained the tour stops well & always checked to see who needed bathroom breaks (explaining where there were flush toilets vs primitive toilets). His passion for the park, wildlife and preservation was apparent. I cannot recommend Shawn enough. Thank you for a memorable tour day!

Response from the operator: Thank you for this great review! It’s so awesome to hear Shawn took great care of your family and especially your children.

    Yellowstone and Teton Fun!

Our day tour with Gary through Yellowstone and the Tetons was unforgettable! Of course, we saw iconic sites like Old Faithful and the stunning Tetons, but what made the experience truly special were the hidden gems Gary took us to—beautiful spots we never would’ve found on our own. His knowledge of the area’s history, wildlife, and geology added so much depth, and his exciting stories kept us engaged the entire day. We saw tons of wildlife, and Gary knew so much about each animal. The picnic lunch was fantastic, and he even gave us great recommendations for the rest of our trip. Highly recommend this tour—it’s the perfect mix of adventure, insight, and natural beauty!

Response from the operator: Wow thank you for this review of what sounds like an amazing day in the Park! Thank you for posting and choosing to see Yellowstone with us and our amazing guide Gary!

    Perfect!

This tour was amazing. Our guide, Ray, was so knowledgeable, helpful and kind- she made our tour. Knowing we wanted to see a moose, she adjusted our tour to give us the best possible chance of seeing one- which we did! She not only had factual information about the parks but also many stories and legends that added to the experience. Ray found the perfect spot for our picnic lunch the was breathtakingly beautiful. She went out of her way to ensure our day was perfect. Could not recommend this tour company enough!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your review! We appreciate that you enjoyed your day out with Rae and she made you feel comfortable and provided great interpretation of the park that helped you feel informed and taken care of. Thanks!

    Super Dave - the professor

In addition to the half day (5 hours) Grand Teton Sunrise Wildlife Tour, we spent the next day (12+ hours) touring Yellowstone on the Scenic Driving Tour. What an incredible day as our driver/guide David (Super Dave) took great care to make sure we saw and understood all of the different sites. Yes - we did see Old Faithful, but that was just one of the amazing things to see in Yellowstone. David also ensured that we were very comfortable on our trip by making sure bathroom stops were in very nice facilities and he questioned us regularly to see if we needed to stop. He made sure we stayed hydrated. The picnic lunch was wonderful and very scenic. I felt like I spent the day with a wildlife professor who was holding class. Thanks Super Dave - you were Awesome!

Response from the operator: Hi! Thanks for this great review! I think you meant to leave this for our Jackson Hole team. I’ll make sure they see it. So glad you had a great day with Dave!

Yellowstone & Grand Teton Nat'l Parks Day Tour - Private Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for West Yellowstone.

How much does Yellowstone & Grand Teton Nat'l Parks Day Tour - Private Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $803 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in West Yellowstone usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Yellowstone & Grand Teton Nat'l Parks Day Tour - Private Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in West Yellowstone is not rushed.

Is Yellowstone & Grand Teton Nat'l Parks Day Tour - Private Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in West Yellowstone, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Yellowstone & Grand Teton Nat'l Parks Day Tour - Private Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Yellowstone & Grand Teton Nat'l Parks Day Tour - Private Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Yellowstone & Grand Teton Nat'l Parks Day Tour - Private Tour?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in West Yellowstone can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in West Yellowstone and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Yellowstone & Grand Teton Nat'l Parks Day Tour - Private Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central West Yellowstone within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in West Yellowstone?

    +

West Yellowstone is the busiest park gateway: guided Yellowstone loops to Old Faithful and Grand Prismatic, wildlife safaris at dawn, and snowcoach or snowmobile tours once roads close. On Outty we rank every West Yellowstone experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Yellowstone National Park - Full-Day Lower Loop Tour from West Yellowstone, Yellowstone Lower Loop Tour | Wildlife & Hot Springs | PRIVATE, Full Day Private Tour and Hike from West Yellowstone. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit West Yellowstone?

    +

June to September for driving tours, December to March for snowcoach access. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in West Yellowstone?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
