    3. Fountain Paint Pot

Along Fountain Paint Pot Trail you will see various hydrothermal features that are expressions of Yellowstone’s still active volcano. Within this geologic system, each type of thermal feature is represented. They can be grouped into two general categories—those with a great deal of water (hot springs and geysers) and those with limited water (mudpots and fumaroles). Despite their structural similarities, no two features are exactly alike.

    4. Grand Prismatic Spring

Grand Prismatic Spring is located in the Midway Geyser Basin. It has the distinction of being the park's largest hot spring. It measures approximately 370 feet (112.8 m) in diameter and is over 121 feet (37 m ) deep. A description of this spring by fur trapper Osborne Russell in 1839 also makes it the earliest described thermal feature in Yellowstone that is definitely identifiable.

    5. Old Faithful

Old Faithful is located in Yellowstone’s Upper Geyser Basin in the southwest section of the park. The geyser-viewing area is the most accessible and visitor-friendly in the park with bench seating, a large parking lot, and a ranger station that tracks the time, height and length of an eruption to predict the next eruption.

      60 minutes here

    6. Hayden Valley

Hayden Valley is a large, sub-alpine valley in Yellowstone National Park straddling the Yellowstone River between Yellowstone Falls and Yellowstone Lake. The valley floor along the river is an ancient lake bed from a time when Yellowstone Lake was much larger. During the drive through Hayden Valley, you will have the chance to see Bison, Elk, Wolves, Grizzly Bears, River Otters and many other animals.

      Pass by without stopping

    7. Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone

The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River expresses the park's complex geologic history in dramatic colors and shapes. Puffs of steam mark hydrothermal features in the canyon's walls. The Upper and Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River add to the grandeur of the unique natural treasure. Experience the canyon from a variety of overlooks, at different times of day, and at different seasons. A number of trails and walkways wind along the rims and down partway into the canyon.

    Yellowstone

Yellowstone is an amazing place to see. Seeing all the wildlife is great to experience, but the geological wonders are amazing.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing! Yellowstone truly is one of a kind. The wildlife is incredible, but the park’s geothermal and geological wonders are just as unforgettable. We’re so glad you had the opportunity to experience it!

    Good, But Some Improvements Needed

The weather was brutal…super hot…but of course, no one cn control that. Our guide, Alex, was super cool, knowledgable, courteous and overall…just great with a multigenerational group with really different walking abilities, interests, etc. The suggestions I have pertain to issues between the guide service and the booking company. The communication I had with the booking service was not good. I literally had a “confirmation” from the booking service (is that Viator?…I don’t know know) that our group would be picked up at West Yellowstone the day of the tour when I had another confirmation the day before that we’d be picked up at Tower Junction, WY. That was not cool and caused some anxiety all the way around. Also, I’d recommend at least an option for some upgraded lunch choices. That would cost more, but it would have been a nice option. The park is great. Our guide was really great. Work on the interface between Viator and the guide service.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re so glad to hear Alex took great care of your group and was able to accommodate everyone’s different interests and abilities, especially on such a hot day. We’re sorry to hear there was confusion regarding your pickup location. We always reach out earlier in the week before your tour to confirm all of the details we’ve received, including the pickup location, so we can ensure everything is accurate and avoid any last minute surprises. Our goal is never to create anxiety but to take it away by verifying those details before your tour. Unfortunately, when bookings are made through third party platforms, there can occasionally be communication discrepancies outside of our control, but we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We also appreciate your suggestion regarding lunch upgrades. As a small business operating in a remote community, we’re limited in the options available to us, but we’re always looking for ways to improve where we can. Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback. We’re grateful you chose to tour with us, and we’re especially happy to hear Alex helped make your day in Yellowstone a memorable one.

Fun! Intimate day of sightseeing conversation and learning about Yellowstone

Beautiful day exploring Yellowstone with a very knowledgeable and personable guide. The group and guide contacted us in the days before the trip to confirm lunch and sightseeing preferences and picked us up, dropped us off right from our hotel. We loved our day seeing Yellowstone with this guide. He was knowledgeable and kept us on a very accurate schedule to see the most sights by the end of the day. He accommodated all of our requests and tailored the day to our family.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you had such a great day exploring Yellowstone with us. Yellowstone Lower Loop VIP Full-Day Private Tour with Lunch: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for West Yellowstone.

How much does Yellowstone Lower Loop VIP Full-Day Private Tour with Lunch cost?

    +

Prices start at $550 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in West Yellowstone usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Yellowstone Lower Loop VIP Full-Day Private Tour with Lunch take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in West Yellowstone is not rushed.

Is Yellowstone Lower Loop VIP Full-Day Private Tour with Lunch worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 44 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in West Yellowstone, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Yellowstone Lower Loop VIP Full-Day Private Tour with Lunch?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Yellowstone Lower Loop VIP Full-Day Private Tour with Lunch suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Yellowstone Lower Loop VIP Full-Day Private Tour with Lunch?

    +

Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in West Yellowstone can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in West Yellowstone and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Yellowstone Lower Loop VIP Full-Day Private Tour with Lunch start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central West Yellowstone within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in West Yellowstone?

    +

West Yellowstone is the busiest park gateway: guided Yellowstone loops to Old Faithful and Grand Prismatic, wildlife safaris at dawn, and snowcoach or snowmobile tours once roads close. On Outty we rank every West Yellowstone experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lower Loop Van Tour from West Yellowstone: Grand Prismatic and Old Faithful, Yellowstone National Park - Full-Day Lower Loop Tour from West Yellowstone, Yellowstone Lower Loop Tour | Wildlife & Hot Springs | PRIVATE. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit West Yellowstone?

    +

June to September for driving tours, December to March for snowcoach access. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in West Yellowstone?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
