I joined this tour to...
I joined this tour to Yellowstone as a solo traveler, and I had a really great experience ! We were only 10 people, which made the group feel very friendly and personal. Everyone was lovely, and having a small bus made the trip really comfortable. We were able to see all the main highlights of Yellowstone, so I felt like we got to experience a lot of the park in just three days. Our guide, Xiangyu, was friendly, helpful, and flexible, which made the trip even more enjoyable. I also added the Bonneville Salt Flats excursion. I had to change guides for this part, but it was not a problem at all, as Xiangyu helped me with the transition. The Salt Flats were really beautiful and definitely worth seeing. However, I felt that the additional cost was a little high considering that it takes about 1h20 to get there and we only visited two spots. It is mainly about enjoying the landscape, which is absolutely stunning, but I’m not sure the price fully reflects the experience. Our guide also told us that it can be even more beautiful in winter, when it rains and creates a mirror effect on the ground. One small downside is that I found the overall tour price a little high considering that it only includes three days in Yellowstone, especially since the national park entrance fee is not included (add 60$ for 3 days). Perhaps part of the cost is due to the two hotel nights near Salt Lake City Airport. I also think it would be nice to include breakfast for the two nights in West Yellowstone. Overall, I really enjoyed the trip and would definitely recommend it, especially to solo travelers. I had a great time and made some wonderful memories !

To large a yellowstone group tour.
Lack of good info on what was happening. It tells you for instant to meet at motel at 3:00PM. What that means you can't check in till 3:00PM at motel not anything about meeting. would be nice to know what the planned trip is ahead of time not when your picked up on Tuesday morning finding out what your trip schedule is for the four days. We were lead to believe that this was suppose to be a couple of 8-10 people but what they put us in was a bus with 50 people of which we had four different languages plus USA and 41 Were mostly China, India, Vietnamese. The Tour Guide Mike did an excellent job of repeating in multi languages but made it difficult to keep up as bus was moving. 50 people for one person is way to much to take to keep on schedule. Our bus driver did an excellent job of keeping us on some kind of schedule but it was obvious with that many people we ended not seeing everything that was originally listed. As far as recommending anyone to Viator in future trips it would be a Zero.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback regarding your recent tour with us. We appreciate the time you took to let us know about your experience, and we would like to address each of your concerns directly. The 3:00 PM time refers to the standard hotel check-in time, as most properties do not allow check-in prior to 15:00. We apologise if this was not communicated more clearly in your pre-trip information, and we will review our documentation to ensure future guests have a better understanding of the arrival day arrangements. We would like to respectfully draw your attention to the product disclosure at the time of booking, which states: “This tour/activity will have a maximum of 55 travellers.” This information is provided so that guests can make informed decisions when choosing their tour, and we regret that it may have been overlooked. We hear your concerns about pre-trip communication. We are actively working to improve how and when we share tour schedules with our guests prior to departure. We are very pleased to read your kind words about the Tour Guide, Mike, and the bus driver. Once again, thank you for your candid review.

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Yellowstone Grand Teton & Jackson Hole 5-day Fully Guided Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Salt Lake City.
How much does Yellowstone Grand Teton & Jackson Hole 5-day Fully Guided Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $965 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Salt Lake City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Yellowstone Grand Teton & Jackson Hole 5-day Fully Guided Tour take?
+
Plan for about 120 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Salt Lake City is not rushed.
Is Yellowstone Grand Teton & Jackson Hole 5-day Fully Guided Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 44 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Salt Lake City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Yellowstone Grand Teton & Jackson Hole 5-day Fully Guided Tour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Yellowstone Grand Teton & Jackson Hole 5-day Fully Guided Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 120-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Yellowstone Grand Teton & Jackson Hole 5-day Fully Guided Tour?
+
Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Salt Lake City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Salt Lake City and add a light layer if any part of the 120-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Yellowstone Grand Teton & Jackson Hole 5-day Fully Guided Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Salt Lake City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Salt Lake City?
+
Salt Lake City is a basecamp: Big and Little Cottonwood canyon hikes and ski shuttles, Antelope Island and Great Salt Lake trips, Park City transfers and Temple Square walking tours. Winter transfer reliability is the single biggest quality signal here. On Outty we rank every Salt Lake City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Salt Lake City Guided Bus Tour, Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square & Salt Lake City Bus Tour, Great Salt Lake Safari - Discover Antelope Island. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Salt Lake City?
+
December to March for skiing, June to September for canyon hiking. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Salt Lake City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
