Organised chaos at the meeting point .... would not recommend meeting any tour at Main Station

The meeting point was absolute chaos. It is a terrible place to meet. So many people and different groups all congregating in the same place. There was no clear signage, no indication of the name of the tour company we booked with. We were not the only ones who struggled finding the tour group and leader. It was a common denominator. I had to phone Tour Leader Eva to find out where she was at Main Station. We booked through Trevotour Travels but the tour leader had on a kkday top !!!! Once the tour began it was ok, but the tour leader did not show us around at locations as had happened in previous tours. Was only explained to us while on the bus.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and inconvenience you experienced at the meeting point. We would like to clarify that the guide’s contact details and full meeting information were shared one day prior to the travel date, as mentioned in your booking. This is to help guests easily reach the guide in case of any difficulty locating the group, especially at busy locations like Main Station. As this meeting point is a common departure area for multiple tours, it can sometimes be crowded. We appreciate your understanding and will continue working on improving clarity and coordination for a smoother experience. Regarding the tour operation, we cooperate with local partners, which is why the guide may have been representing a different brand on-site. We also value your feedback about the guiding at the stops and will share it with the team for further improvement. Thank you again for your comments, and we hope to provide you with a better experience in the future.

    Jiufen and Shifen Taiwan Tour

The Yehilu Geo Park tour was cancelled and I received an acceptable refund. The Tour to the Town of Shifen (Lantern experience) and nearby Shifen Falls was amazing and made the entire tour worth it. My only comment is that the lantern launching was mid afternoon, not in darkness, this should have been the last stop on this “evening” tour. Staying in Jiufen for 2 hours was too long. One hour max to take the landscape photos and quickly view the numerous tourist trap shops would have been sufficient. The two hours was needed for those who opted for the Tea Experience so I understand.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your detailed and balanced feedback! We’re glad to hear that despite the cancellation of Yehliu Geopark, you enjoyed the experiences at Shifen, including the lantern activity and the beautiful Shifen Falls. We appreciate your comments regarding the timing of the lantern release and the duration of the Jiufen stop. Your suggestions are very valuable, and we understand how adjusting the sequence or timing could further enhance the overall experience for our guests. At the same time, as you mentioned, certain timings are arranged to accommodate optional activities such as the tea experience, but we will certainly take your feedback into consideration for future improvements. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope to welcome you on another enjoyable tour in the future!

    Taiwan’s highlights in one tour!

I joined a day tour covering Yehliu, Shifen, Shifen Waterfall, and Jiufen, and it was an amazing experience. Each stop had its own unique charm...Yehliu’s fascinating rock formations, the nostalgic railway town of Shifen with its sky lanterns, Shifen Waterfall, and Jiufen. I’m once again sure that Taiwan feels like a Miyazaki movies. =) What made the whole day unforgettable for me was our guide Vicky. She’s not only knowledgeable but also one of the warmest and kindest people I’ve met. I really enjoyed our conversations throughout the tour. She shared so many interesting recommendation, but also made me feel like I was traveling with a friend rather than just a guide. The pacing of the day was just right, giving us enough time to explore, take photos, and soak in the atmosphere at each location. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Taiwan!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed feedback! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed exploring Yehliu, Shifen, and Jiufen, and that each stop left such a memorable impression. It’s especially heartwarming to know that Vicky made your experience even more special — we’ll be sure to share your kind words with her. We’re thrilled that the pacing, atmosphere, and overall experience met your expectations. Thank you for recommending the tour, and we hope to welcome you again on another unforgettable journey in Taiwan!

    Do not book

Do not book this company! The experience said maximum of 15 people and I arrived today to find 45 people booked. I asked them to cancel and they made it difficult trying to get me to cancel which would mean I lose money. They didn’t want to cancel it as they will lose money and credibility. Horrible experience!

Response from the operator: We are truly sorry to hear about your disappointment and the misunderstanding regarding the group size. We completely understand your frustration and regret that this situation affected your experience. As mentioned in our booking details, the maximum group size is 15 people per booking, and guests can book for up to 45 participants in total. Unfortunately, in this instance, multiple bookings on the same tour date resulted in a larger overall group. We have issued a full refund for your booking, and we kindly request you to review the refund status with Viator. Please rest assured that we take guest feedback seriously and will work on communicating this policy more clearly to avoid future misunderstandings. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and hope we can provide you with a much better experience in the future.

Yehliu, Jiufen & Shifen Taiwans North Coast Day and Night Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Taipei.

How much does Yehliu, Jiufen & Shifen Taiwans North Coast Day and Night Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $49 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Taipei usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Yehliu, Jiufen & Shifen Taiwans North Coast Day and Night Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Taipei is not rushed.

Is Yehliu, Jiufen & Shifen Taiwans North Coast Day and Night Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Taipei, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Yehliu, Jiufen & Shifen Taiwans North Coast Day and Night Tour?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Yehliu, Jiufen & Shifen Taiwans North Coast Day and Night Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Yehliu, Jiufen & Shifen Taiwans North Coast Day and Night Tour?

    +

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Taipei can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Taipei and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Yehliu, Jiufen & Shifen Taiwans North Coast Day and Night Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Taipei within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Taipei?

    +

On Outty we rank every Taipei experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Private Custom Taipei City Tour, Private Tour to Jiufen, Yehliu Geopark, and Pingxi, Full-Day Private Northern Taiwan Tour from Taipei with Pickup. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Taipei?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Taipei?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
