Dolphin Dreams Come True🐬
The minute I found out that I could swim with dolphins in the wild in Puerto Vallarta - I knew I had to make it happen🐬 They had originally signed us up with swimming with the dolphins and sea lions in a tank. When I found out, it was in a tank I made sure to let them know that I am very against that and that we only want to swim with them in the wild. We got lucky and had a private tour. They told us if more people didn’t sign up they may cancel it. I’m so glad they didn’t! Our guide Michael and Captain Martin were amazing! The day started off a little slow, but we never lost hope! Sure enough just a few minutes later, they found us a couple of dolphins that were calm and swimming slow, so we were able to get in and swim with them! It was the most beautiful experience seeing them so close and in their natural habitat. We got more time with the dolphins than I ever could’ve dreamed of. So when he told us, it was time to give them some space I was super fulfilled and more than happy to see them from the boat. We both thought that the tour might have just ended there, but they fed us some sandwiches and took us snorkeling at this beautiful secluded beach. Michael was able to tell us about all the species of fish and the marine birds. And on the way back - even more dolphins!!!😍 This excursion couldn’t have gone any better. I can’t wait to come back!🩵🐬

This is the experience of a lifetime
Maggie our guide and expert was so knowledgeable about the dolphins in the bay. This was an unforgettable experience. You can’t predict if dolphins will be there or will want to play that day. They are wild and have big personalities. Maggie worked so hard to make this experience happen, we got in the water a few times and the dolphins weren’t interested. Then when all hope was lost a male dolphin came to us and we got in with him. Being in the water with dolphins was a lifelong dream so this was incredible. If you want to experience wild dolphins this is the place to do it. Maggie knows what she is doing. Our boat operator Martin was also excellent and always got us so close to the dolphins to make the interaction possible. Thank you both for a magical trip.

I got to swim with wild dolphins in the ocean!
This excursion was simply one of the great experiences of my life! We snorkeled and swam close-up with wild dolphins in the ocean. Maggie and Martin were wonderful hosts and provided a welcoming, fun, safe, educational environment. Maggie knew these dolphins like family! Seriously, if you are going to Puerto Vallarta, make this a priority!!! You don't need any prior experience snorkeling to do this. And, you don't have to be young to do it! I am in my late 60s.

Thank you eco tours
Loved, loved, the company. I love how they keep the group small so you’re able to get more personable with not only the crew but your fellow travelers.. we went out for the dolphin experience and snorkeling. We got pretty close to the dolphins but they decided they didn’t want to get close to us which is fine. They’re wild animals so we get it. Snorkeling was pretty nice. And we got back to the pick up point pretty fast. We loved the small group as opposed to those tours that pack you in like Sardines. No pushy sales tactics like pictures and tips. Definitely a go to tour company

Why this scores 85
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Wild Dolphin Encounter & Snorkeling Adventure: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Vallarta.
How much does Wild Dolphin Encounter & Snorkeling Adventure cost?
+
Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Vallarta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Wild Dolphin Encounter & Snorkeling Adventure take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Vallarta is not rushed.
Is Wild Dolphin Encounter & Snorkeling Adventure worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 85 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 156 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Vallarta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Wild Dolphin Encounter & Snorkeling Adventure?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Wild Dolphin Encounter & Snorkeling Adventure suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Wild Dolphin Encounter & Snorkeling Adventure?
+
Around 55 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Vallarta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Vallarta and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Wild Dolphin Encounter & Snorkeling Adventure start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Vallarta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Puerto Vallarta?
+
On Outty we rank every Puerto Vallarta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Winner 2026 Downtown Vallarta Food Tour with Vallarta Food Tours, Signature Taco Tour in PV with Vallarta Eats, Food & Mixology Tour:Tequila,Tacos, Mezcal and Agave Cocktails. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Puerto Vallarta?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Puerto Vallarta?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
