Must be in one’s bucket list.
Visit to the salt mines is Must when in Krakow. Marvel at the work/engineering done by the salt miners and the artistry done at the various chambers. This certainly should be in one’s bucket list. Only snag was on the way back the driver dropped us off at about 300m from the Hotel. Package was pick up and drop off at our hotel.

Outstanding tour with an excellent tour company.
This is an excellent tour which by far exceeded our expectations. It was very well organised and communications with Prime Tours Krakow was first rate. We were picked up from our hotel by Ralph who was very knowledgable and had excellent English. He gave us so much information on our way to and from the salt mine, pointing out significant points of interest and the history behind them. Wieliczka Salt Mine itself is stunning. It involves a lot of walking (just over 2 hours) but it’s worth every minute, including chapels and statues carved by the miners, chandeliers made from rock crystals and an underground lake. Ralph was waiting at the end of the tour to take us back to our hotel. We were so impressed with this company that we booked another tour with them for later in our week’s stay in Krakow.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your high praise! We are thrilled that the tour of the Wieliczka Salt Mine exceeded your expectations and that Ralph’s local knowledge added such value to your trip. It was a pleasure to assist you, and we are honored that you chose to book another tour with us for later in your stay. We always strive to provide first-rate communication and organization to make every visit to Krakow unforgettable.

Highly recommended
Ralph pointed out many historical spots on our drive and gave us great dinner recommendations in Krakow. We were early and he was able to get us on an earlier tour

Best tour guide and service ever!
We booked 2 day trips with Prime Tours and could not have been more impressed with the service we received. Prime tours made the whole experience seamless. Both our drivers were great. Tomas is the best tour guide I have ever come across, he was absolutely amazing and so knowledgeable. From start to finish prime tours organised everything to a tee and made the whole process very easy and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend to anyone planning a visit to Krakow.

Excellent Service Again
Tomasz our private driver for the trip was on time, very friendly and informative about the area and took excellent care of us. The drive to the mine was relaxed and once there he showed us to the queue where we needed to be and sent us the tickets to get in. He was waiting for us when we came back out and was happy to stop off for pit stops whenever needed. Fabulous day out and would thoroughly recommend.

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Wieliczka Salt Mine - Private Tour from Krakow: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Krakow.
How much does Wieliczka Salt Mine - Private Tour from Krakow cost?
+
Prices start at $70 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Krakow usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Wieliczka Salt Mine - Private Tour from Krakow take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Krakow is not rushed.
Is Wieliczka Salt Mine - Private Tour from Krakow worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Krakow, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Wieliczka Salt Mine - Private Tour from Krakow?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Wieliczka Salt Mine - Private Tour from Krakow suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Wieliczka Salt Mine - Private Tour from Krakow?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Krakow can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Krakow and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Wieliczka Salt Mine - Private Tour from Krakow start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Krakow within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Krakow?
+
On Outty we rank every Krakow experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Complete Cracow Bike Tour (small group of maximum 15 people!), Krakow–Zakopane: Cable Car, Chocholow Baths, Cheese & Vodka, Krakow: Zakopane & Hot Springs Tour with Cable Car (Hotel Pickup). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Krakow?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Krakow?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
