So many Whales!
This was such a great tour. We started very early in the morning, which means that you can get to the Arch without a million other boats for those that want to see the beauty of the sun and water in more privacy. We were comfortable and had plenty to drink to stay hydrated. We saw marlin leaping out of the water, some small rays flying up, and so many humpback whales. Each would come so close to the boat. You can tell that they really enjoy these trips and respect the animals. You also get drone footage at the end of the arch from the beginning of the tour and from some of the whales that you were able to witness. Then when you return to port, you are right in the center of town so feel free to stop for shopping, food, gelato. Excellent tour. Highly recommend.

Private Whale Watching
This is one of the best excursions I’ve been on. We saw about 5 humpback whales and one of them repeatedly breached. We saw a stingray breach the water, dolphins, and tons of sea lions. We really enjoyed having the boat to ourselves. The captain and his son were awesome. I highly recommend this to anyone.

Fantastic Humpback and Orca Experience!
We did a 3 hour whale watching experience with Roger and his crew on the Seabreeze. It was fantastic! Nice, clean boat with restroom. Roger was extremely knowledgeable and answered nearly all of our questions. We had several close sightings of Humpback whale pairs and then also had an incredibly close experience (30-40 feet away) with two pairs of Orca whales. Roger also shared some drone footage that was taken on our trip. Cold water, soda and beer was also made available.

A FANTASTIC TOUR! We would do again and again!
We were promptly met at the dock and led to a beautiful clean and comfortable well appointed boat. Within 40 minutes we were seeing whales. First a mother, calf, and male who put on quite a show with tail slaps. We saw some amazing breaches as well. The captain and first mate are very knowledgeable and even flew a drone above the boat to catch amazing photos and videos that were then shared with us. The boat captains selectively radio each other when and where whales are spotted. We probably saw close to 30 whales in the 2 1/2 hour time we were out. Definitely something to see in a lifetime ! Did not disappoint!

Definitely worth it
Highly recommend. Especially enjoyed receiving the drone pictures after the tour. We saw humpback and grey whales, as well as some sea turtles. Boat was very clean and comfortable. Both my parents and my 7 year old daughter had a great time (as did my partner and I). My parents have been on a whale watching tour before and didn’t have a great time (too crowded, no whales, etc.), but they said this tour completely changed their view and they couldn’t wait to go again (with Roger). Had a slight hiccup with the scheduling- booked months in advance and when I reached out the day prior for timing, I was told there was an issue with the reservation and we could reschedule for a later day in the week or get a refund. Rescheduling wasn’t an issue for us, but I imagine it would have been very disappointing to cancel had we not been able to reschedule. Luckily it wasn’t a problem and I’m so happy we were able to go.

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Whale Watching Experience in Cabo San Lucas: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cabo San Lucas.
How much does Whale Watching Experience in Cabo San Lucas cost?
+
Prices start at $550 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cabo San Lucas usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Whale Watching Experience in Cabo San Lucas take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cabo San Lucas is not rushed.
Is Whale Watching Experience in Cabo San Lucas worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 44 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cabo San Lucas, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Whale Watching Experience in Cabo San Lucas?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Whale Watching Experience in Cabo San Lucas suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Whale Watching Experience in Cabo San Lucas?
+
Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cabo San Lucas can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cabo San Lucas and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Whale Watching Experience in Cabo San Lucas start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cabo San Lucas within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cabo San Lucas?
+
On Outty we rank every Cabo San Lucas experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Humpback Whale Watching Tour in Cabo San Lucas, Cabo Desert Off-Road & Beach Horseback Combo and Tequila Tasting, Cabo All-Inclusive Private Beach Club with Open Bar and Buffet. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cabo San Lucas?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cabo San Lucas?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
