What you'll see and do

  1. City Palace

Meet your professional guide at the designated meeting point to begin your tour. Walk on to the ramp of the main gate to reach the grand Udaipur city palace. It was built over a period of nearly 400 years being contributed by several kings of the dynasty, starting by the Maharana Udai Singh II as the capital of the Sisodia rajput clan in 1553. The City Palace in Udaipur was built in a flamboyant style and is considered the largest of its type in Rajasthan, a fusion of the Rajasthani and Mughal architectural styles, and was built on a hill top that gives a panoramic view of the city and its surrounding.

  2. Jagdish Temple

Walk 150m north of the City Palace’s Badi Pol entrance through a steep, elephant-flanked flight of steps. This busy Indo-Aryan temple was built by Maharana Jagat Singh in 1651. The wonderfully carved main structure enshrines a black stone image of Vishnu as Jagannath, Lord of the Universe. There’s also a brass image of the Garuda (Vishnu’s man-bird vehicle) in a shrine facing the main structure.

  3. Bagore Ki Haveli Museum

Visit the gracious 18th-century Bagor Ki Haveli, set on the water’s edge in the Gangaur Ghat area, was built by a Mewar prime minister and has since been carefully restored. There are 138 rooms set around courtyards, some arranged to evoke the period during which the house was inhabited, while others house cultural displays, including – intriguingly enough – the world’s biggest turban.

  4. Lake Pichola

Lake Pichola, situated in Udaipur city in the Indian state of Rajasthan, is an artificial fresh water lake, created in the year 1362 AD, named after the nearby Picholi village. It is one of the several contiguous lakes, and developed over the last few centuries in and around the famous Udaipur city

  5. Udaipur

Walk into the narrow streets of old city to see and understand the incomparable art. The miniature paintings are small in size, but they are extremely detailed and elaborate and this requires a high degree of skill and experience. In the intricate design, there is no way to hide even a small brushstroke gone wrong. The Miniature Paintings of Udaipur symbolize Rajasthan in many ways – colorful, detailed and opulent. Walk back to starting point to end the tour with happy memories.

How much does Walking Tour of Udaipur’s Old City cost?

Is Walking Tour of Udaipur’s Old City worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (0/5 across 0 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Udaipur, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Walking Tour of Udaipur’s Old City?

+

Is Walking Tour of Udaipur’s Old City suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 2. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Walking Tour of Udaipur’s Old City?

+

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Udaipur can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Udaipur and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Walking Tour of Udaipur’s Old City start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Udaipur within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Udaipur?

+

On Outty we rank every Udaipur experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Private Udaipur Sightseeing Tour with optional Guide, Udaipur Sightseeing Tour by Private Car and Privet Tour Guide, Private Udaipur Sightseeing Tour with Guide. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Udaipur?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Udaipur?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
