Highly recommended walking tour in Kathmandu

I had a fantastic walking tour with Anil. He took me through Asan bazar to the Kathmandu Durbar square where we visited temples and the palace. The highlight was seeing Pachali Bhairav dance at the palace. Anil has a wealth of information about the temples, Buddhism and Hinduism and helped me appreciate what I was seeing. I would highly recommend Anil’s walking tour or to arrange other places to see in Kathmandu.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review that has inspired me to do even better in the future.

Recommend Anilji for his experience and expertise as Nepal Travel Guide

Evening tour of Pashupatinath temple with Anilji on Mahashivratri day I had a great tour of Pashupatinath Temple with Anilji, he was well before time to pick me from the hotel. I found him most experienced tour guide and deep interest in Music. The temple was crowded with lakh of people coming for workship but Anilji took me inside the temple swiftly and i was able to witness and be part of the Shiva Aarti celebrations. He also shared his music while driving his car and dropping me back to the hotel safely. Thank you Anil ji

Response from the operator: Thanks s lot for your positive comment. I really appreciate it.

Mr Anil is a professional guide with 32 years of experience and he even did a little harmonica performance for us during our car ride to the attraction haha! Wishing you and your family great health and abundance of joy Mr Anil :)

Is Walking tour of real Kathmandu through back streets. worth it?

+

Is Walking tour of real Kathmandu through back streets. suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Walking tour of real Kathmandu through back streets.?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

+

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
