Convenient minibus, good audio guide, bus stop difficult to find, tour operator not available

The tour was well organized overall, but only 3 stars, because it was very difficult to find the departure point of the bus. The instructions said there were employees in yellow T-shirts, there was no one far and wide, no blackboard, no office, nothing. He drives in front of a hotel, which was also not named, a stop is nowhere visible. When we were worried about missing the bus, I was only told via the contact function in Viator that the bus leaves on time and could not wait. No help whatsoever. The contact details of the tour provider I had to laboriously search, after a waiting loop a friendly employee explained to me at the last minute where the bus runs.

    Very Good Tour

The tour was really well-organised with plenty of time at both Vesuvius and Pompeii. I would highly recommend this company because they made everything so easy. Vesuvius was a struggle for my sloth-like level of fitness, but there is a stopping point at the crater where you can either turn round or continue further up. Apart from that it's a straight slog up with no benches. However, it's worth it for the views alone. Pompeii is just huge and you'd need about a week to do it fully. Personally I preferred Herculaneum and a visit to the Naples Museum, where you can see a lot of the items excavated from Pompeii but without the crowds.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
