This is our first time...
This is our first time visiting Reno Nevada for a few days so we are looking for something to do to know something about the area. We found Reno Tour that offer a full day visiting Virginia city and Lake Tahoe for small group. Our tour guide, Tony, pick us up at our hotel right on time. As we spend time with Tony, he is knowledgeable, calm, answering all our questions and very accommodating to our request. Tony is a good driver so we can enjoy the view while he navigates the winding roads in the mountain and around the lake. We feel safe and especially no motion sickness for us so we are happy. We highly recommend this tour to explore the area and for us to have an over view of our national wonder beautiful Lake Tahoe. We definitely will be back to vacation on Lake Tahoe. Thanks to our tour guide Tony for a wonderful day together.
Response from the operator: Hi Bertin, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! ⭐️ We’re thrilled that your first visit to Reno was such a memorable experience and that you enjoyed exploring both Virginia City and the breathtaking beauty of Lake Tahoe. Good trip for foreign traveler
Pick a day with great sunshine will be a wise choice. Lake Tahoe is absolute beautiful, the trip will cover more than 60% of the lakeside, enough for a first time visit. The tour to Virginia city is more wonderful than expected. Very nice tour guide and driver. Recommend to foreign traveler with limited proficiency of English.

It also means a lot to hear that you found the tour comfortable and enjoyable as an international traveler. Our guides always do their best to make everyone feel welcome and have a great experience regardless of language level. It was not a sightseeing trip. It was an experience!
Our driver and Guide knew to take us to a smaller, intimate space as he could sense our love of the outdoors and nature! We lucked out and the weather was sunny and lovely and the traffic was MUCH less crowded then in the summer months. We were on a group tour, but we don't travel in groups, so there were only 4 of us total, which made it seem almost private. Couldn't be happier!
Response from the operator: Hey Tyler, Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re really happy to hear you enjoyed the more intimate experience and that your guide was able to match the tour to your love of nature. Those quieter moments and hidden spots are what make the experience special. You also picked a perfect time to visit great weather and fewer crowds always make it even better! We hope to welcome you again for another amazing outdoor adventure 😊 Reno Outdoors Team

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Virginia City and Lake Tahoe Full Day Small Group Tour from Reno: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reno.
How much does Virginia City and Lake Tahoe Full Day Small Group Tour from Reno cost?
+
Prices start at $360 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reno usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Virginia City and Lake Tahoe Full Day Small Group Tour from Reno take?
+
Plan for about 6.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reno is not rushed.
Is Virginia City and Lake Tahoe Full Day Small Group Tour from Reno worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reno, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Virginia City and Lake Tahoe Full Day Small Group Tour from Reno?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Virginia City and Lake Tahoe Full Day Small Group Tour from Reno suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Virginia City and Lake Tahoe Full Day Small Group Tour from Reno?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reno can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reno and add a light layer if any part of the 6.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Virginia City and Lake Tahoe Full Day Small Group Tour from Reno start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reno within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Reno?
+
Reno mixes casino-town nightlife with easy access to Lake Tahoe: Tahoe day tours, Virginia City ghost-town trips, rafting on the Truckee and winter ski shuttles. On Outty we rank every Reno experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Experience Raptors and Falconry in Reno, Reno Ghost Tour: Ruin, Revenge, & Reckoning, 1 Hour Distillery Tour and Tasting Flight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Reno?
+
June to September, plus December to March for ski access. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Reno?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
