    Best tour ever!

Dave from Bulldog tours….amazing historian. Hands down the best tour I’ve ever experienced. His knowledge of the Yorktown and its crew was heartfelt and sincere. The stories were amazing, but the sincerity to which he told it and the respect given was top notch.

    Great tour of the Yorktown!

This was a very informative and interesting tour. Our guide Albin was knowledgeable and did a great job. The after hours access at night was nice for more comfortable temps and no crowds. We were party of 4 ranging from 16-76 and all enjoyed it!

    Awesome experience!

This was a super cool experience! We had previously done the self-guided tour of the USS Yorktown and loved every minute of it, but thought it would be neat to see everything at night and have access to what we hadn’t seen! Dustin was our tour guide and we could not have asked for a better guide. He truly knows this carrier inside and out, and you can tell how passionate he is about its history. He was very personable and engaged with everyone in the tour group. He shared historical facts as well as stories about hauntings on the ship. Would definitely recommend this tour if you’ve already toured the ship during regular hours. We will definitely be back!

    Beware last minute cancellation

My experience wasn't good, considering the tour company cancelled the tour at the last minute. Was scheduled for the 9:00 p.m., and received a call at 6:09 p.m. to tell me the tour was cancelled because not enough people had booked it. The tour company did offer to allow me to attend the 7:30 tour, but to make that, not only would I have had to run home to get my car and rush to the meeting point, but I would also have missed my dinner reservation. So, when booking you should be aware that you may not receive sufficient notice of a cancellation to make alternative plans. It would've been really nice if the tour company had reached out earlier, since information asymmetry was in play (presumably the tour company was aware before 6:09 p.m. the day of that only 2 people had booked the tour).

Response from the operator: Hello, we are sorry that the tour did not meet the minimum. You are absolutely correct that we knew you were the two on the tour. We do anticipate tours meeting the minimum (very rarely do they not). We are proactive in telling guests about this policy in all confirmation emails. If they do not meet the minimum, we try to provide as many options including scheduling to a different time, a different night, a different tour, or providing a full refund. We appreciate the feedback.

    Not a ghost tour

It was not really a ghost tour. No scary stories. We had to ask a few times what paranormal activity has been common around the ship to get something out of the tour guide. It was a good history tour and a beautiful view from the deck but definitely not a ghost tour.

Response from the operator: Hello, We are sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. We appreciate the feedback and will investigate the tour to see where your guide can increase the amount of paranormal content. We have no problem offering a refund for the tour. Please feel free to reach out to me at andrew@bulldogtours.com to discuss further.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mount Pleasant.

How much does USS Yorktown Ghost Tour with Exclusive Night-Time Access cost?

    +

Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mount Pleasant usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does USS Yorktown Ghost Tour with Exclusive Night-Time Access take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mount Pleasant is not rushed.

Is USS Yorktown Ghost Tour with Exclusive Night-Time Access worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 311 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mount Pleasant, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule USS Yorktown Ghost Tour with Exclusive Night-Time Access?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is USS Yorktown Ghost Tour with Exclusive Night-Time Access suitable for kids and families?

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book USS Yorktown Ghost Tour with Exclusive Night-Time Access?

    +

Around 109 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mount Pleasant can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mount Pleasant and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

When is the best time to visit Mount Pleasant?

    +

Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Mount Pleasant, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Mount Pleasant?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
