An Unforgettable Journey to Annapurna Base Camp with My Mom
My 70 years old mom and I did the Annapurna Base Camp trek with Sherpa Expedition & Trekking, and it was an amazing experience! Our guide, Nima Sherpa, was incredibly professional, kind, and caring throughout the entire journey. He made sure we were always safe, comfortable, and enjoying every step of the trek. The trail had a lot of stone stairs, which made parts of the hike quite challenging, but our porter, Kumar, was a huge help. He not only carried our backpack but was also super supportive and encouraging along the way. We decided to take a flight to and from Pokhara instead of the long bus ride, and that made the trip much easier and more comfortable. Overall, it was an unforgettable adventure, and I’m so glad we chose Sherpa Expedition for this trek. Highly recommended!!!

Poon Hill Christmas
We did Ghorepani / Poon Hill over 6 days Excellent time of year to go Quiet, clear dry days - cool at night Easy to travel, eat, organise Christmas in the mountains - I don’t know why more families don’t do it at this time of year We had a family of 5 - we had a blast ! Excellent management by Ram Excellent guide - Karyan (Guide) and Porters (Kedar, Lila, and Goman) You could do it without a guide or porters - by why would you - this supports the local economy and life was made easier A wonderful family holiday

Annapurna Circuit
My wife and I decided to we wanted to hike the Annapurna Circuit on a short timeline, and were disappointed to learn that Nepal recently passed legislation that would require us to hire a guide. We were hoping for a more romantic get-away and feared that having a guide as a third wheel may be awkward at best and intrusive at worst, but after a 6 day adventure, we couldn't be happier with our experience. Sherpa Expeditions met us at our hotel upon arrival in Nepal and had all our paperwork in order. They also helped us find good but affordable insurance in case we required a helicopter evacuation. They explained our itinerary and then made sure any flights, taxis, and jeep rides were arranged to get us where we needed to be on time. Our guide, Pravin Jimba (definitely request him if you can) not only helped us navigate the terrain and get the best rooms at the best teahouses, but more importantly he helped us experience the Himalayas with a more Nepalese perspective. He knew when to give us space, but also when to step in and encourage us to push ourselves at the higher altitudes, even during a rest day, so that we were as prepared as possible to cross Thorang La Pass at 17,500' with minimal acclimation. I can't stress enough that the experience would have been way more uncomfortable without his expert guidance. It was the trip of a lifetime we hoped it would be.

Trustworthy, adaptable company that work with you to deliver the trek you want.
From my very first contact with Ram I felt confident that we were in safe reliable hands. Due to covid we had to rearrange our original dates and Ram was very accommodating. On arrival in Kathmandhu we were met at the airport as promised and taken to our hotel, then to the offices where we went through the details of our trek and met our guide Raju. We had also opted for a day tour of Kathmandhu which was excellent, the owner took us on the tour and we felt me maximised our day. Our trek to Upper Mustang was better than expected, the tea houses were all wonderful, again we had to make adjustments on the trek due to some of our requests and also due to events outside of our control. Raju responded quickly to these to ensure that we were still able to see all of Upper Mustang and return safely to Pokhara. I would not hesitate to recommend Sherpa Expedition and Trekking and will definitely be back to explore some more of the Himalayas with them.

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Upper Mustang Trekking: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.
How much does Upper Mustang Trekking cost?
+
Prices start at $2,667 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Upper Mustang Trekking take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.
Is Upper Mustang Trekking worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Upper Mustang Trekking?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Upper Mustang Trekking suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Upper Mustang Trekking?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Upper Mustang Trekking start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?
+
On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kathmandu Sightseeing | UNESCO World Heritage sites Private/Group, Manaslu Circuit Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek: Private Group & Discounte Price. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kathmandu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
