Fun ride
We had a family of four and rode in two side by sides which was the 100% way to go. We had a blast. It was rainy and slippery on the course, but it made it really fun. We got covered in mud so wear something you can get dirty. We were super dirty, but we were soaked and it was awesome. We also stopped to swim at the waterfalls and it was beautiful and so refreshing. Loved our guides! It was a solid hour ride.

What a Ride!
My family had the most amazing experience on this excursion! The facility was gorgeous, the ATV ride so much fun. Be ready to get muddy!! Our tour guides were so friendly, three of them with just five people on our trip so plenty of help if needed! Kalea, Manu, and Aiden- thank you!! I can check off swimming in a waterfall off my bucket list. The gardens were so lovely and peaceful. My favorite thing I did in Hawaii-
Response from the operator: We are thrilled to have made your favorite thing in Hawaiʻi list! Hoping to see you on your next visit to our beautiful island!

Not what we expected
The bikes are super old. Like really old. They need to get new ones for that amount of money for the tour. We had 20 minutes to spend at the waterfall. Not enough time to even change or slightly dry off. The leader seemed very tired and there wasn’t much communication at all. They were nice enough but they just seemed like they were going through the motions. The course isn’t really a course. You’re just weaving through a small area. Pretty lackluster experience overall, sadly. We went in a tour in Mexico that was amazing! Great bikes with amazing terrain. So that all we have to compare it to.
Response from the operator: Aloha, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your comments regarding the condition of the ATVs, the amount of time at the waterfall, and the overall tour experience. Guest feedback helps us identify areas where we can improve, and we will be sharing your comments with our management and operations teams for review. Our ATV adventure is designed to be a scenic, guided experience that allows guests to explore the beautiful landscapes of the Umauma area, including exclusive access to our private waterfall. While many guests enjoy the relaxed pace and natural setting, we understand that travelers who have experienced more rugged or adrenaline-focused bike tours elsewhere may have different expectations. We are also disappointed to hear that the guide's energy and communication did not enhance your experience. Creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere is something we strive for, and your comments will be addressed with our team. Mahalo again for your honest feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve and appreciate you giving us the opportunity to do so. Warm regards, The Umauma Experience Team

Muddy yet eventful
We had a great time at the tour! We we're welcomed by 2 guides who was knowledgeable and interactive (sorry i forgot their names but 1 of it was their last week :( They kept us safe and gave us lots of recs.. My boyfriend booked the tour for us, and I felt very hesitant due to weather but we had so much fun. It was just the 2 of us on the tour and we felt VVIP. It was pricey however worth every penny especially with the service, view, and private waterfall experience. I would highly recommend it to all visiting the island.

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Umauma Falls Deluxe ATV Waterfall and Swim Experience: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Big Island of Hawaii.
How much does Umauma Falls Deluxe ATV Waterfall and Swim Experience cost?
+
Prices start at $224 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Big Island of Hawaii usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Umauma Falls Deluxe ATV Waterfall and Swim Experience take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Big Island of Hawaii is not rushed.
Is Umauma Falls Deluxe ATV Waterfall and Swim Experience worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 204 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Big Island of Hawaii, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Umauma Falls Deluxe ATV Waterfall and Swim Experience?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Umauma Falls Deluxe ATV Waterfall and Swim Experience suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Umauma Falls Deluxe ATV Waterfall and Swim Experience?
+
Around 71 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Big Island of Hawaii can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Big Island of Hawaii and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Umauma Falls Deluxe ATV Waterfall and Swim Experience start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Big Island of Hawaii within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Big Island of Hawaii?
+
The Big Island is volcano country: Hawaii Volcanoes National Park tours, Mauna Kea summit stargazing, night manta ray snorkels off Kona, Waipio Valley lookouts and coffee farm visits. Summit tours have real altitude rules, so we weight safety detail. On Outty we rank every Big Island of Hawaii experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include KONA Manta Ray Night Snorkel - FREE re-ride if no Sightings, Big Island in a Day: Volcanoes Waterfalls Sightseeing and History, Big Island: Captain Cook Snorkel On A Power Catamaran With Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Big Island of Hawaii?
+
April to October, though the island runs year round. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Big Island of Hawaii?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
