Good Way to Experience Turkish Culture
This was a wonderful time. My partner and I attended a session on our four-day trip to Istanbul. Our host set out a wonderful assortment of Turkish deserts ahead of time, and when we arrived the room was set up comfortably like a home. We got to learn about the history of coffee throughout the diaspora, and Turkish coffee traditions while we prepared our own to drink. At the end, our host performed a traditional coffee reading for each of us. The entire session took us about 80 minutes. This was a great experience and added a lot to our trip!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much! 🌸 I loved hosting you both☕✨. It makes me so glad to know this experience became a special part of your Istanbul trip. You’ll always be welcome here again whenever you come back!

Exceptional !!!
My experience was SUPER AMAZING! I wished it never ended. I had an amazing time! Amazing history of coffee, amazing coffee related Turkish stories, great humour. The workshop space is very beautifully decorated and in the heart of town - near Taksim and so many shopping malls. This was a therapy and I wished my husband was with me. The host is super amazing! Very polite, patient, speaks English fluently and is human. Had a great time and I recommend 2000%! 😍😍
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the glowing words and all those heart eyes! It was a joy sharing coffee lore, a few laughs, and that therapy level calm. Knowing the stories, aromas, and setting resonated so deeply and that you wished the session would never end absolutely makes my day. Next time, please bring your husband along so he can join the fun (and taste test the foam for himself!). Until then, may every cup you brew carry a bit of Istanbul’s magic with it. You’re always welcome back

Fun experience!
We had a very nice and fun time with Ilkar at the workshop, we now know more about Turkish coffee history and how to make it. The time for the workshop is flexbile, so we could arrange it according to both our schedules once the workshop is booked. We had ours a bit late in the evening and there were also the decaf option to make our own coffee, just in case :) totally recommended!
Response from the operator: Flexing the schedule to suit both of us is always a pleasure, and it was great to see your enthusiasm during every step of the brewing ritual. Safe travels, enjoy your new coffee making skills, and you’re always welcome back for another cup whenever you’re in Istanbul!

An amazing and enriching experience!
İlker was extremely kind, knowledgeable and hospitable! We had an amazing time learning about Turkish coffee (and coffee in general) and Turkish culture. The sweets he offered were delicious and we had the opportunity to chat and learn about each other's cultures. I would highly recommend this experience to those who want to know more about Turkiye! ☺️❤️
Response from the operator: It was a pleasure swapping stories and learning about your culture as well. Your enthusiasm made the experience truly special for me, and I’m so grateful you’d recommend it, safe travels and happy sipping!

Why this scores 81
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Turkish Coffee on Sand and Fortune-Telling Workshop by Gentlemen: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Istanbul.
How much does Turkish Coffee on Sand and Fortune-Telling Workshop by Gentlemen cost?
+
Prices start at $14 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Istanbul usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Turkish Coffee on Sand and Fortune-Telling Workshop by Gentlemen take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Istanbul is not rushed.
Is Turkish Coffee on Sand and Fortune-Telling Workshop by Gentlemen worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 54 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Istanbul, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Turkish Coffee on Sand and Fortune-Telling Workshop by Gentlemen?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Turkish Coffee on Sand and Fortune-Telling Workshop by Gentlemen suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Turkish Coffee on Sand and Fortune-Telling Workshop by Gentlemen?
+
Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Istanbul can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Istanbul and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Turkish Coffee on Sand and Fortune-Telling Workshop by Gentlemen start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Istanbul within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Istanbul?
+
On Outty we rank every Istanbul experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Istanbul 1, 2 or 3-Day Private Guided Istanbul Tour, Istanbul Luxury Bosphorus Yacht Cruise with Asian Side Stop, ISTANBUL BEST: Iconic Landmarks Full Day PRIVATE Guided City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Istanbul?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Istanbul?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
