Unique Alaskan experience for animal and floral lovers!

We immensely enjoyed the summer tundra walk with our guide. She was so knowledgeable about the land, dog sledding and Alaska in general. The dogs were so much fun to walk with! We got to give them treats along the way and learn about Alaskan huskies and their unique abilities to pull sleds and work as a team. We also got to pick berries as we walked!

Response from the operator: Thanks so much again for joining us out on the land with the Moon Dogs! We enjoyed our time with you as well! For any future guest reading this review starting roughly early August we have abundant blueberries and other fruit readily available for harvest on the land. - Court, Brian and the Moon Dogs

It was really fun to hang with the dogs, learn about the tundra, and pick berries! Courtney was friendly and very knowledgable.

    Walkin’ with the Moon….Dogs

Walked the tundra with a team of sled dogs and their human! Learned about the edible flora and fauna and got to watch the dogs do their thing! Would highly recommend!

Response from the operator: Hi Joan! We appreciate you taking time to write us a great review. Thank you for the feedback!

    This was an awesome...

This was an awesome experience. Court is really knowledgeable, and we learned a lot about the land, what grows there, and what to see, that we otherwise wouldn’t have. The dogs are adorable, friendly, and really brighten up your day. Our group was kept small, so we were able to spend some great quality time with them. 10/10, really unique experience, takes you to a different area with great views, and the Moon Dog Kennel team is great. Would 100% do this activity again!

Response from the operator: Hi Luca! Thank you so much for taking time to share your experience! We appreciate your feedback and are happy to hear you enjoyed your time spent out on the tundra with the Moon Dogs. It's amazing what we find out there when we slow down and take a look at the smaller things. Thanks again, it was a pleasure meeting you! - Court, Brian and the Moon Dogs

Great family experience with the dogs!

Court was incredibly flexible with us on times, including last minute, and taught us so much about the dogs and the land! We had kids 8-13 with us and it was one of the highlights of our trip!

Response from the operator: Hello and thank you for taking time to leave us a review! We were more than happy to work with you on a time that fit best with your Denali schedule. The moon Dogs are a friendly bunch and our off trail walking tour is perfect for adults and kids alike. Happy trails and wagging tails, - Court, Brian and the Moon Dogs

Tundra Walk with Free Running Sled Dogs: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Healy.

How much does Tundra Walk with Free Running Sled Dogs cost?

    +

Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Healy usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tundra Walk with Free Running Sled Dogs take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Healy is not rushed.

Is Tundra Walk with Free Running Sled Dogs worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 32 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Healy, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tundra Walk with Free Running Sled Dogs?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tundra Walk with Free Running Sled Dogs suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Tundra Walk with Free Running Sled Dogs?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Healy can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Healy and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tundra Walk with Free Running Sled Dogs start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Healy within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Healy?

    +

On Outty we rank every Healy experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Denali Park Nature Walk (3 Hours) w/Expert Naturalist, Denali Park Zipline Adventure, 2.5-Hour Denali Wilderness ATV Adventure Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Healy?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Healy?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
