Dishonest billing practices regarding crew tips (Great crew though)

We had a great time on the water and the crew themselves were fantastic, and food was amazing! However, the company’s billing practices are incredibly dishonest. We knew about the extra fees upfront, and the office staff explicitly confirmed to us beforehand that the mandatory 10% "service charge" was the tip for the crew. However, at the end of the trip, the crew informed us that they do not receive a single cent of that 10% charge. Because they did a great job, we felt obligated to double-tip them in cash so they were actually compensated. Charging a mandatory "tip" that goes straight into the owner's pocket rather than to the staff is predatory and deceitful. Additionally, forcing guests to pay a mandatory dock fee separately at the pier is just dumb - it should simply be included in the upfront Viator total to save everyone the hassle. I messaged the company directly on WhatsApp to ask for an explanation and a refund of the 10% fee, but they completely ignored me. Take your business elsewhere, or be prepared to pay double tips to ensure the actual crew gets taken care of.

Great time for a fun celebration on the water!

We had a fabulous time as a group of 6 women celebrating birthdays on this yacht! They upgraded us to a larger yacht for free, which was a nice start. The yacht itself was spacious and clean. The apps were there from the start, and all the food was really good and plentiful! The crew, especially Isa, were friendly and accommodating. It was a fun, relaxing way to spend the afternoon. Our only complaint was that the yacht was not allowed to go on the open seas because of the wind. That's not the tour operator's fault, but it definitely took away from the experience we were hoping to have, so just know that's a possibility. They offered us an extra hour for free, but we had dinner reservations so couldn't take advantage of that. We ended up in a smaller alcove next to several other yachts, which was fine but not the fully private experience we were hoping for (the other yachts were also playing music, so ours was a little drowned out). Again, the rest of the tour was wonderful so would still recommend!

    Amazing

Had an amazing day with very good food, an amazing service and a very nice boat. The places they took us to were amazing with transparent water.

Response from the operator: Thank you, Gianpaolo, for spending your day on the water with us and for sharing your experience. We’re so happy to hear you enjoyed the food, the service, and the beautiful 34’ luxury catamaran in Tulum. Exploring spots with crystal-clear, transparent water is one of the highlights of a luxury sail and snorkel experience in Tulum, and it’s great to know it made your day so special. We truly appreciate your visit and your recommendation of The Yacht Experiences. Whenever you’re ready for another unforgettable day at sea — whether back in Tulum, or in Cancun or Puerto Vallarta & Punta Mita — we’d love to welcome you again. 🌊⛵

Excellent Luxury Sail and Snorkel Trip

Our private luxury catamaran excursion exceeded our expectations. The staff was welcoming and very attentive. Our tour included drinks and food, we were not disappointed. They did an excellent job preparing and presenting our meals (multiple courses) and drink choices and everything was very tasty and fresh. We had a great time snorkeling, swimming and just lounging around. Our only regret is that we didn't book the 8-hour excursion. After being on the boat for-4 hours, we didn't want to it to end. We had so much fun and they the crew was amazing!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Juliana, for choosing to spend your day on the water with us and for sharing such a detailed review. We’re delighted to know your private luxury catamaran experience exceeded expectations — from the attentive crew and freshly prepared multi-course meals to the snorkeling, swimming, and relaxed moments on board. It truly makes us smile to hear that your only regret was not booking the 8-hour experience — that’s one of the best compliments we could receive. We’re especially glad the crew helped make the day so much fun and memorable for you. Thank you for trusting The Yacht Experiences and for your recommendation. Whenever you’re ready for another day at sea — whether in Tulum, Cancun, or Vallarta & Punta Mita — we’ll be happy to welcome you back for round two. 🌊⛵

    Boat tour

Such a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, but it was the staff who really made it special. Santiago and his crew was so amazing!!! Anything we needed - they were there for us!!!!!

Response from the operator: What a lovely review — thank you for taking the time to share it! It’s amazing to hear that your sail and snorkel experience felt so special, and we couldn’t agree more: the food is great, but it’s our crew who truly bring the magic to each trip. Santiago and his team will be thrilled to know how much their care and attention meant to you. Knowing they were there for anything you needed is exactly the feeling we hope every guest takes home. We’d be delighted to welcome you back on board for another beautiful day at sea. And if you ever visit Cancún or Puerto Vallarta, our teams there would love to host you for another unforgettable adventure. Here’s to more wonderful moments on the water! 🌊⛵️✨

Tulum 34 Foot Sail and Snorkel All Inclusive: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tulum.

How much does Tulum 34 Foot Sail and Snorkel All Inclusive cost?

    +

Prices start at $185 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tulum usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tulum 34 Foot Sail and Snorkel All Inclusive take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tulum is not rushed.

Is Tulum 34 Foot Sail and Snorkel All Inclusive worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 174 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tulum, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tulum 34 Foot Sail and Snorkel All Inclusive?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tulum 34 Foot Sail and Snorkel All Inclusive suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Tulum 34 Foot Sail and Snorkel All Inclusive?

    +

Around 61 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tulum can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tulum and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tulum 34 Foot Sail and Snorkel All Inclusive start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tulum within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tulum?

    +

On Outty we rank every Tulum experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tulum Ruins, Turtles in Akumal and Cenote tour, Tulum Guided Tour, Magical Cenote, Lagoon Snorkeling and Beachside Lunch, Chichén Itzá, Cenote and Valladolid with Lunch and transportation. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tulum?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tulum?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
