An Experience of a Life Time
I am always fascinated by the incredible art and handicraft legacy of Rajasthan and as an Indian, I wanted to see it first hand. I signed up for one class and ended up doing two. Jeetu sir was so patient and detailed with his instructions during this 90 min workshop. I also bought two miniature art pieces which now hang in my home as a reminder that Udaipur is much more than its beautiful architecture, lakes and food. The class showed me the complexities of miniature art. This was hands down the best experience I could gift myself on this trip. I actually got a chance to create my experience not just consume it. If you are travelling solo, book a rapido bike to Pacific Art, Udaipur and experience the life of an artist for 90 min!

A peaceful, authentic and unforgettable experience
This was honestly one of our favorite experiences in Udaipur!! Pacific Arts is located a little outside the busiest part of the Old City, but it is extremely easy to reach by tuk tuk — and, in our opinion, the location actually makes the experience much better. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, and the shop itself feels much more like being welcomed into a family home than walking into a tourist attraction. Pacific Arts is a family business, now in its fourth generation, and you can immediately feel how much love and pride they put into preserving the tradition of miniature painting. We met the brothers Naresh and Jitendra: one of them spent time showing us their collection, explaining the history and techniques behind the paintings, and telling us about their work supporting local artists and helping preserve this craft. What we particularly appreciated was that there was absolutely no pressure to buy anything. They simply wanted us to understand the work, the skill involved and the value behind what they create. Then we did the miniature painting class with the other brother, and it was such a wonderful experience. I am not someone who draws or paints at all, so I genuinely thought I would struggle, but they guide you through the entire process from scratch in such a patient and approachable way that you end up creating something you are actually proud of. The class was incredibly calming and relaxing, but also gave us a completely different appreciation for how much precision, patience and skill goes into traditional miniature painting. Everyone was incredibly warm and welcoming. They brought us bottled water, made us feel completely at home, took their time with us, and even helped us arrange a tuk tuk back afterwards. What made the experience particularly special was how genuine it felt. Nothing felt rushed, commercial or staged for tourists. It felt like spending a few hours with people who deeply care about their family tradition, their craft and the artists they work with — and who genuinely enjoy sharing it with visitors. We would absolutely recommend Pacific Arts to anyone visiting Udaipur. Even if you think you are “not artistic,” do the class. It is peaceful, interesting, personal and incredibly rewarding. We would happily come back again.

Amazing cultural experience
Very interesting and personal expirence from Naresh and Jitendra. They both took the time to educate me on their art, the techniques and the history behind it. Also learning from the masters makes you really appreciate the skill involved in the paintings
