Best Service Provider
We returned from 6 days Darjeeling and Sikkim tour. We enjoyed the tour very much as we were in a group of 6 girls from Kathmandu who decided to go for the Darjeeling Sikkim tour Package of Nepal One Tours & Travels. I think we did a great job of hiring them because the services they provided were excellent. We were worried at the beginning because only being girls in a group and travelling to India by road for the first time, but the contact persons at every places we visited were so helpful and were always there to receive us before we arrive. The hotels we stayed in both Darjeeling and Sikkim were also on a nice location and very comfortable and the meals they serve was also great. The jeeps, cars and buses they provided for the travelling was also easy and very co-operative which was the best part because we were worried on those transportation. Folks from Kathmandu, looking for a Darjeeling and Sikkim tours, go and choose Nepal One Tours for the best deal. Once again thanks for everything.
Response from the operator: Dear Madam, Thank you so much for choosing Nepal One Tours for our Darjeeling and Sikkim tour package. We also thank you for reviewing us in Tripadvisor. Rafting for 2 hours, Bus ride is 10 hours
We did the one day rafting trip with Nepal one tours. The company was very responsive and the price was good at $25 per person which is comparable to other operators out of Kathmandu. Hopefully the following tips will help if you book through this company which would have been nice to know if advance: 1. Transportation is "included" in the cost, but that means that you take a tourist bus first. It would have been nice to have known the name/number of the actual bus. Even with the tour operator having my boyfriend's cell phone number, this doesn't really help when you are combing through a lot of busses trying to locate the right one while trying to ask someone that doesn't speak very good English. This tourist bus took 4 hours to reach the river, had a/c and fans, and had reclining chairs. 2. The rafting was beautiful. There are bridges straight out of Indiana Jones to see and the weather was in our favor considering it was still monsoon season. I was skeptical about our guide at first, but he ended up being nice. Expect 2/3 class Rapids on this trip and 8 people on each raft. Rafting time was 2 hours at best. 3. The "local bus on the way back" should have been throughly explained to us, but was glossed over during booking. It took us 6 hours to get back to Kathmandu. This bus is not for the faint of heart, sweat, and smells. There is no a/c or fans on the local bus and more frequent stops. I had a scarf with me thankfully and highly recommend that you take one with you. It will help with the pollution that you will breathe in. It also helped when eventually I had to move next to a rather sweaty individual whose armpit was on my arm for the upwards of an hour. I used the scarf to place some type of barrier between myself and the sweaty armpit and I would imagine that a lot of people would not be enthused with this arrangement. Again the price was great for $25 and I tried to embrace the experience. The rafting experience should outweigh the travel time and that was my biggest disappointment. If you expect 5 star luxury service for transportation and pampering along the way then I would look elsewhere. You have been notified =)
Response from the operator: Dear Madam, First of all I would like to thank you for choosing, visiting our office and purchasing 1 day rafting package in $25 per person from Nepal One Tours & Travels. Definitely, it is our job and we love to provide travel related services to clients in Nepal which includes our own standard tour packages as well as other activities which we have to hire other companies to conduct like rafting, bungee jumping, paragliding and so on, however it is sometime challenging for us to be able to provide all the services we offer. Like in your case for the service like rafting which is a group activities, cannot be provided for only 2 persons, on top of that the immediate service you wanted for next day at the last hours was not easy. Our top priority was to find where is the group of people who are going to rafting on the same exact date you wanted so that we do not have to say "sorry we cannot offer our services for you" As a service industry is not always about the "money making" providing services in a reasonable price to the service seekers is the must is our belief. For the 1 day rafting, we had to try to look for the several rafting operators to find out which one has rafting group going for the "same date" and whether it is possible to accommodate more persons, given the month of august which is not a huge tourist season. Secondly, the service you purchased from us "1 day rafting trip to Trishuli River with price $25 per person" (including your 2 way transportation from Kathmandu, lunch and rafting) was the cheapest price we could offer anybody. Definitely we could not provide you the hotel transfers in the same cost neither we could overcharge you. Providing a rafting service is not an easy job because, it is not conducted by 1 person i 1 place there are different persons involved at different levels with having different responsibilities to bare behind the scene. It is a whole lot of team work and our team always try to do their best. All these in $25 per person can be nearly inferred as an exploitation for anybody general, but we do not think more than just "Guests are gods" in Nepal. For the disappointment you expressed regarding not providing the bus number and the name bus company that we would be booking for you later, we would have call at your hotel and let you know those information's if your Boyfriend would not have accepted to receive the bus details next morning in the cell phone. Additionally, it was pretty understandable that, couple of persons who could locate our office without any direction explanation which is a tough job even for locals of Kathmandu for the first time in these small alleys of Thamel could again easily navigate the right bus with the working cell phone contact provided given that, you also told about your knowledge of the location of the bus station. Furthermore, we are sure that our rafting in charge at the bus station who was responsible to find you, easily found you at the bus station without any problem. I also want to comment about your dissatisfaction of "travelling hours". Normally it takes 2 hours to reach the rafting starting point from the Kathmandu bus station but due to the ongoing road construction and situation of trucks getting broken at middle of the road in then narrow Kathmandu - Naubise section of the Prithivi Highway causes heavy traffic jam. It affects the entire travelers (locals or foreigners) who are using that highway. We as a Nepalese feel sorrier for any tourist who gets stranded on these traffic during their precious holiday without any reason. We can just request to consider these facts which are not in control of the hands of travel agencies or any other agencies to provide alternatives. Regarding your dissatisfaction about the local bus, that is true it is not at all a comfortable journey all the time but that was the only option to return back at that time because the tourist buses were not available during that time which was well informed to you prior the booking. We always learn from the feedback from our customers and even learn more from our unsatisfied clients and we like to improve from the lessons learned. Finally I would like to thank you so much for your time and effort to write a review about the Rafting and the experiences which you shared. It for sure we are not happy to read your review which has some of your dissatisfaction about the transportation, which could have prevented well if you would have asked to provide private luxurious car transportation to the Rafting point at the time of booking which would have been win-win for both of us.

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Traditional Kathmandu Day Tour with History and Mystery: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.
How much does Traditional Kathmandu Day Tour with History and Mystery cost?
+
Prices start at $16 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Traditional Kathmandu Day Tour with History and Mystery take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.
Is Traditional Kathmandu Day Tour with History and Mystery worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Traditional Kathmandu Day Tour with History and Mystery?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Traditional Kathmandu Day Tour with History and Mystery suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Traditional Kathmandu Day Tour with History and Mystery?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Traditional Kathmandu Day Tour with History and Mystery start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?
+
On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kathmandu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
