    One of the best

We spent a glorious week staying at Guardestelle, the second time in the last 4 years and it is simply perfect in every way. The accommodation is wonderful, so comfortable and stylishly decorated using original furniture that is in keeping with the tradition of the property. Everything you need in the kitchen for full self catering or part. we cooked a couple of evening meals using the pasta, sauce and of course wine form the on-site shop and it was great. A big plus for us was no TV, such a joy to have peace! The location and position speaks for itself, open countryside views, stunning sunrises, a nice walk up to the town which means you can escape the crowds during the day and visit when it quietens off for dinner if you wish. But what sets it apart again is the staff and team there. Fausto and Susannah have built a fabulous location and team. Everyone is so friendly and professional but also very welcoming. Special shout out to Sara this time who went above and beyond before and during our stay, helping us with transport and shopping for our stay. The team at breakfast are a delight and the food is out of this world. All fresh local ingredients freshly made. We also did the cooking class with Chef Bepe which was so much fun, we learnt lots and then got to eat the most incredible 4 course lunch. Thank you to the entire team for a percent stay.

    Awesome

This was such a fun wonderful experience. Beppe was so fun and we had a great time learning to cook and then enjoy our creations.

Response from the operator: Cooking with Beppe is something you don't forget easily. Food is incredible and he is a character! Now you know where to find us and if you wish to spend a relaxing holiday by a panoramic swimming pool, here we are! Ciao e grazie Fausto

Nice and chill cooking class in a beautiful atmosphere

Cooking class also suitable for beginners like me. Beppe guided us nicely through the evening. We helped prepare the zucchini flowers filled with ricotta basil cream in tempura batter, then we produced various pasta (ravioli, tagliatelle, spaghetti) while the ragu was being made. Pollo Cacciatore was also prepared. And then - lava cake for dessert was amazing. The dinner then took place on a terrace with a view over the vineyards - a dream. With delicious Vernaccia and Chianti, super. If you book directly with the organizer, it is obviously cheaper (140 euros per person as of 2026).

Response from the operator: Ciao and thank you very much to have joined the cooking experience. The stuffed zucchini flowers in tempura are my favourite but you try the crispy egg......to die for! I'm happy you have enjoyed the all experience, the panoramic terrace and the estate wines which we produce in very small quantities. Actually yes, direct reservation are somehow cheaper. Thank you for sharing the experience, i hope to also host you in one of our cottages for a longer and relaxed stay. Thank you very much, Fausto

We were the only "students" Everything was perfectly prepared Guiseppe was very professional; if we did not understand him, it was translated via an app A 5-course menu was cooked We learned quite a bit about Tuscan cuisine in the process We also ate this menu With that amount, a little more time would be nice. Everything was very delicious. We would love to repeat this event with friends and family.

Amazing stay & experience with our kids!

We returned to Guardastelle with our three kids (ages 10, 8, and 6) after honeymooning there 13 years ago. The property is stunning - the pool, grounds and buildings are immaculately kept and the apartments are spacious, clean and comfortable. The views of San Gigmignano and surrounding Tuscan hills are beautiful. Fausto and Susanna - the owners - and the whole staff are wonderful hosts. The highlight of our stay this time was our cooking class with Beppe - we made a four course meal (fresh pasta, fried zucchini flowers, chicken cacciatore and chocolate lava cake) alongside enjoying two wines from the vineyard. It was fun, informative and delicious! We had such a great time. We'd highly recommend Guardastelle - and will return again!

Response from the operator: Ciao Brooke! It has been so nice to see and host you again, particularly after your first visit when you were just a couple! Beppe is carachter and his skill in cooking is super; the fried zucchini flowers is one of my fav dishes. I look forward to host you all again. Thank you so so much for coming back this year and for the beautifl review. Ciao Fausto

What should I bring or wear?

How many days do you need in San Gimignano?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
