The Isthmus of Corinth is a narrow strip of land that connects Central Greece with the Peloponnese , while the canal that has been opened in it connects the Saronic Gulf with the Gulf of Corinth . It is about 6 kilometers long and the narrowest point is where the Corinth Canal was built (1880-1893). It was a strategic point and for this reason a wall had already been built since ancient times (end of the 5th century BC), which had been preserved until the Byzantines ( Hexamilion ).

Ancient Corinth (Archaia Korinthos)
Corinth was a city-state (polis) on the Isthmus of Corinth, the narrow stretch of land that joins the Peloponnese to the mainland of Greece, roughly halfway between Athens and Sparta. The modern city of Corinth is located approximately 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) northeast of the ancient ruins. Since 1896, systematic archaeological investigations of the Corinth Excavations by the American School of Classical Studies at Athens have revealed large parts of the ancient city, and recent excavations conducted by the Greek Ministry of Culture have brought to light important new facets of antiquity.

Archaeological Museum of Corinth
The Archaeological Museum of Ancient Corinth, located in the archaeological site of ancient Korinthos, was built in 1932 by the American School of Classical Studies that conducted excavations in the area. The renovated building familiarizes the visitor with one of the most important ancient Greek cities. It exhibits Prehistoric collections, finds from the Asklepieion, and artifacts from the Geometric times until the Byzantine period. Τhe Τwin Kouroi from ancient Tenea, an exquisite sample of archaic plastic art, recently became part of the exhibition.

Temple of Apollo
The temple of Apollo archair temple built of 40 monolithic Dorian columns with only seven of them maintained over the ruins of the ancient market. The original temple dating back to between the early 7th and early 6th centuries BC. it was built of stone, bricks and wooden beams and carried a heavy and complex four-pitched roof made of clay tiles. Rain or Shine
This tour was the perfect amount of time to spend in Corinth. It was a very rainy day and Andreas helped me dodge the raindrops so I didn’t miss a thing along the way. He and his company were patient, accommodating and gracious abut arranging the meet up point because it began pouring as soon as I returned from the Parthenon.

Tour of Ancient Corinth.
We had an exceptional day trip with Pericles. He indicated he had been in the business for over 30 years and it showed. His knowledge of the life of Apostle Paul from his beginnings to his eventual demise was explained in a manner that made us think he was a retired Professor of History. We would thoroughly recommend this tour and particularly wish to acknowledge the performance of our tour guide/ driver Pericles.

Great Tour
Outstanding tour. Our tour guide was Nick and he was very professional and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to give us thorough and fantastic tour. Also the restaurant the suggested for us for lunch was authentic Greek food and excellent. It was very profound to stand where the Apostle Paul stood. We would highly recommend this tour.

My son got carsick and we had to pull over. Not only were they very professional and helpful, but both of the drivers were helping us take care of him and clean him up after he threw up at least four times. They did not want to make us feel bad or act like they were inconvenience. If anything it was the complete opposite. When I apologize, they said no need to. We are parents and we completely understand. Obviously, the drive took longer, and I felt bad. We’ve traveled all over the world and have done many tours, but they were by far the most professional I’ve come across. They sent a message the next day asking if he was okay. This wasn’t their fault that they were more concerned about us. We also enjoyed the tour and they gave us a lot of great information! Other than the carsick part it was a great day.
