What you get
About this experience
Athens is a city full of magical contrast and strong culture and we would love to introduce you to this whilst we offer you traditional Greek breakfast foods. We will start our journey right in the centre of non touristic Athens in the fascinating, alternative area of Athinas Street where you will be surrounded by the sounds, sights and smells of the local food markets. These include meat, fish, spices and fruits and vegetables. Whilst you enjoy Greek yoghurt, Greek coffee, Koulouri, Spanakopita and more we will introduce you to the markets and the local traders who work there. You will learn about the culture of Greek coffee and visit the oldest coffee shop in Athens where they still make it the traditional way - do you know how that is? We will also show you the best places to shop for spices, olives and other Greek delicacies at local prices. Book our early tour and leave the rest of the day free to explore Athens and visit the tavernas we recommend to you during the tour!

Discover the hidden food spots of Athens
We were taken on this brilliant walk around the markets, food stalls, coffee shops etc and told about the food, culture etc and in the meantime got to taste the best food in the area. We ended in a local place were we would otherwise have never gone with amazing small dishes and the best yoghurt. We were shown where to get pita, olives, fresh feta. The young women showing us around had so much enthusiasm for her work and the food, we really loved it and would highly recommend touring with this organisation
Response from the operator: Thank you very much. We are very happy to know you enjoyed your time with Arela so much.

Start Your Day Right
Rachel was our guide for this breakfast tour. Do this tour to explore the markets and enjoy various foods. Come hungry!!!

Fantastic way to experience breakfast like an Athenian!
Arela was a fantastic host and you get so much value for this tour. If you’ve done the longer traditional food tour with Rachel and Michael I would still recommend this tour as you make different stops and Arela has her own personal style that is also very engaging!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much. It was a true pleasure to host you on two tours and to know we will meet again one day in the future!

Traditional breakfast in markets with olive oil and honey tasting: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Traditional breakfast in markets with olive oil and honey tasting cost?
+
Prices start at $10 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Traditional breakfast in markets with olive oil and honey tasting take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Traditional breakfast in markets with olive oil and honey tasting worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Traditional breakfast in markets with olive oil and honey tasting?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Traditional breakfast in markets with olive oil and honey tasting suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Traditional breakfast in markets with olive oil and honey tasting?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Traditional breakfast in markets with olive oil and honey tasting start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
