Nice boat trip but the swimming is not as advertised.
Nice boat trip along the caves of Polignano. Nice guide. Too bad the swimming was right outside the harbor in a place where there was nothing else. The description mentioned snorkeling but there was no way to do that.
Response from the operator: Dear customer, we’re glad you enjoyed the caves of Polignano. Regarding the swimming stop, please note that it may vary depending on sea and weather conditions, such as wind and currents. This is entirely determined by the condition of the sea. Our skipper always does their best to stop in the calmest area possible, to ensure maximum comfort for guests on board. Thanks a lot Silvia

Underwhelming
I did the Polignano boat tour. The tour left 20 min late. The promotional material showed the boat inside caves and grottos and swimming inside caves. We didn’t enter any caves. The swimming was in the harbour surrounded by dozens of other boats, which wasn’t inviting. We weren’t told that we were not going to enter the caves. The only stops were the see La Monochile beach and a couple of other non/ descriptive beaches. The promotional material was misleading and the tour was wholly underwhelming. We were offered Prosecco but weren’t even offered a Coke or a Water.

Great tour!
Was a great tour to see all the different caves along the shore side. Boat took us right into them. The driver was kind and explained the areas to us. I was with my 5 year old he enjoyed it. Get a chance to jump off but we didn’t I was a little worried about getting him back on the boat.
Response from the operator: Grazie per la tua gentile recensione. Siamo molto contenti abbiate apprezzato il tour e che il tuo bimbo si sia divertito. Lamarinaboat staff

Nice experience with family.
Nice trip to see the caves. The time was just enough. The swimming stop was a perfect end for the trip. We visited with children aged 9 and 11.

Great experience!!!!
We had the best experience with Sylvia! First of all, she said us up with a driver her name was Laura and boy was she incredible. He picked us up at the hotel and drove us to this marina. From there we were able to refresh and set up our day, as they were bathrooms and a café. Once we went on the boat with other couples, there was a friendly atmosphere. Then we enjoyed the boat ride and beautiful weather. They gave us some Prosecco and some Tarali. We jumped in the water, we saw the caves at a leisurely pace. Can’t recommend the story enough you must go! Christine and Lisa from New Jersey.
Response from the operator: Thanks so much dear.. we are so happy to read your beautiful review. Hope to see you again one day! Silvia&Marino

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Tour by boat to discover the Polignano Caves: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bari.
How much does Tour by boat to discover the Polignano Caves cost?
+
Prices start at $30 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bari usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Tour by boat to discover the Polignano Caves take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bari is not rushed.
Is Tour by boat to discover the Polignano Caves worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bari, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Tour by boat to discover the Polignano Caves?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Tour by boat to discover the Polignano Caves suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Tour by boat to discover the Polignano Caves?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bari can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bari and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Tour by boat to discover the Polignano Caves start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bari within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bari?
+
On Outty we rank every Bari experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bari’s Ultimate Street Food Tour - Small Group by Do Eat Better, Boat Tour of the Polignano a Mare Coast with Aperitif, Polignano a Mare: Boat Tour of the Caves - Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bari?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bari?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
