    Great history lesson.

So much history regarding the Emperors and their time in the palace.

    Despite torrential rain...

Despite torrential rain on the day we visited Topkapi Palace, it was very good. Very culturally interesting. Paid extra for harem visit but wasn't really necessary as there was lots to see otherwise. Particularly enjoyed the Cistern tour. Exceptionally busy but we later found out it was a public holiday. Despite the crowds, we found it very interesting and got lots of amazing photos

Oozes wealth and privilege from a bygone era

Situated next to Hagia Sophia in the old quarter this is full of gold and jewels reflecting to opulence of the time it was built. Complete with gardens and a insight into the living quarters and the hareem it is very interesting to wonder at the life of the rich and powerful. Well worth a visit.

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. We are happy you enjoyed your trip and the experience with the Istanbul E-pass. We look forward to participating in your next adventure in Turkey again. Best Regards Dan Istanbul E-pass

Fairly average tour, meeting points a bit woolly

The tour of Topkapi Palce was disappointing for a number of reasons. The tour is entirely outdoors and there is much more of interest within the walls. It would’ve been nice to have touched on the contents of the palace and seen inside. That said, one was free to peruse at your own leisure afterwards, we just didn’t have the time. When we book a tour we kind of want the highlights done within the schedule because we didn’t have all day. The tour of the Basilica Cistern on the other hand was brilliant. An amazing underground gem, with a great introduction from Akhmed that took about 20 mins, with same amount of time again needed to get round and enjoy the place. The meeting points given in the description were a bit out using google maps, but the company responded within 10 mins to queries by msg on Viator App., which saved the day.

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. We are happy you enjoyed your trip and the experience with the Istanbul E-pass. We look forward to participating in your next adventure in Turkey again. Best Regards Dan Istanbul E-pass

Topkapi Palace and Basilica Cistern Combo Tour in Istanbul: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Istanbul.

How much does Topkapi Palace and Basilica Cistern Combo Tour in Istanbul cost?

    +

Prices start at $119 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Istanbul usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Topkapi Palace and Basilica Cistern Combo Tour in Istanbul take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Istanbul is not rushed.

Is Topkapi Palace and Basilica Cistern Combo Tour in Istanbul worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 41 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Istanbul, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Topkapi Palace and Basilica Cistern Combo Tour in Istanbul?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Topkapi Palace and Basilica Cistern Combo Tour in Istanbul suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Topkapi Palace and Basilica Cistern Combo Tour in Istanbul?

    +

Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Istanbul can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Istanbul and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Topkapi Palace and Basilica Cistern Combo Tour in Istanbul start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Istanbul within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Istanbul?

    +

On Outty we rank every Istanbul experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Istanbul 1, 2 or 3-Day Private Guided Istanbul Tour, Istanbul Luxury Bosphorus Yacht Cruise with Asian Side Stop, ISTANBUL BEST: Iconic Landmarks Full Day PRIVATE Guided City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Istanbul?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Istanbul?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
