Amazing experience, and our Tour Guide was GREAT!!
My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary a little late, and we were not disappointed. We did the tour of the distillery, and it was very interesting to learn about the history of the building, and how it all came to be. Then we watched a short video made by the owners with even more history, which was great. Then it was time to taste. Neither my husband nor myself really cared for the Gin, but the Vodka was so smooth going down. Our Tour Guide was Tony, and he was AMAZING!!! If you get the chance ask for him!!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for celebrating your anniversary with us at Tom’s Town! We’re thrilled you enjoyed exploring the history behind our Kansas City distillery, learning a little about how Tom’s Town came to be, and, of course, getting to the tasting! We’re especially glad the Double Grain Vodka was a hit. And thank you for the incredibly kind words! It means a lot that we could be part of your anniversary celebration, and we hope to welcome you both back for another cocktail, tasting, or distillery tour soon. Cheers to many more anniversaries!

Great KC Tour!
We had a great time at the Tom’s Town Distillery tour. Our tour guide Dick was knowledgeable and provided great facts about KC history. Walked us through a great spirits tasting and was overall such a fun guide. Highly recommend this tour!

Just ok
Not all that great. Started late and the tasting was just ok. Would not recommend it.
Response from the operator: Sanjin, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear your experience with our distillery tour and tasting didn’t meet expectations, and we apologize for the delayed start. We want every guest visiting Tom’s Town to leave having enjoyed both the tour and tasting experience. Beyond the late start, we’d really appreciate the opportunity to better understand what fell short during your visit. Please feel free to contact me directly at tpulford@toms-town.com with any additional feedback you’re willing to share. It would be helpful as we continue working to improve our Kansas City distillery tours and the overall guest experience. Thank you again for letting us know.

The host was knowledgeable, which made the tour awesome
We got there on time, so we had an old fashion. Well made. The company CEO happened to be there with a warm greeting, then the 3 floor tour began. Each floor is better than the next. The tasting room was cozy. I'm sure there was not a question our awesome tour guide Tony couldn't answer. We bought 2 bottles, so job well done.
Response from the operator: Valerie, thank you so much for the wonderful review! I had such a great time showing you around Tom’s Town, and I really appreciate the kind words. I’m glad you enjoyed exploring all three floors, learning some of our Kansas City history, and, of course, tasting the spirits along the way. It sounds like starting with an Old Fashioned and leaving with two bottles made for a pretty successful visit! Thank you again for joining me for the tour. I hope we get to welcome you back to Tom’s Town next time you’re in Kansas City. Cheers!

Loved this tour
The 45min-1 hour tour time was perfect. Saw the distilling and bottling room followed by a trip to the 3rd floor tasting room. Very knowledgeable guide who encouraged questions! Tasted 5 small samples. Great information about the prohibition era in Kansas City. Highly recommend

Why this scores 85
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Tom's Town Distillery Tour and Tasting: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kansas City.
How much does Tom's Town Distillery Tour and Tasting cost?
+
Prices start at $27 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kansas City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Tom's Town Distillery Tour and Tasting take?
+
Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kansas City is not rushed.
Is Tom's Town Distillery Tour and Tasting worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 85 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 203 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kansas City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Tom's Town Distillery Tour and Tasting?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Tom's Town Distillery Tour and Tasting suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Tom's Town Distillery Tour and Tasting?
+
Around 71 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kansas City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kansas City and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Tom's Town Distillery Tour and Tasting start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kansas City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kansas City?
+
Kansas City runs barbecue tasting tours, 18th and Vine jazz history walks, World War I Museum visits, brewery crawls and fountain-hopping city tours. On Outty we rank every Kansas City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Escape Game at Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Kansas City Outlaws and Legends Tour, Kansas City Trolley Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kansas City?
+
April to June and September to October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kansas City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
