    Great time!

We went on the Kansas City museum, parks and history tour with our teenaged grandchildren. We had a wonderful time. April and Kyle did a great job! They trained us well, made sure we navigated safely and gave us a lot of great KC history. We’d be happy to take another tour.

    Our Second KC Segway Tour

My youngest daughter and I had done the art tour before so we knew some would be repeat but my oldest daughter and boyfriend enjoyed. The second half took us down by the waterway, plaza, fountains, park, and surrounding areas. Kyle did a great job sharing stories.

    big dollars for little thrill

At the price point listed, I expected a little more pop and pizazz. The person who greeted us in the shop was melancholy enough that I assumed there would be a tour guide. As we moved out to the street to take our test on the segway, I realized the office guy was also our tour guide. I found his zest and zeal to be very little. After having done various architecture tours (Chicago river) and docents in museums, the guide was a let down. The segways were alright. However, riding the scooters available through KC was 80x as exciting and enjoyable (and 80x less the cost). I found the cost to be overpriced for what we got. The guide admitted there should be another guide on the tour but I don't think size of group was the downside of this lackluster investment. KC is amazing and I wouldn't do this again.

Response from the operator: I am very sorry that you did not have a good experience with us. In the 3 + years that this guide has been with us, this exceptionally experienced guide has consistently received enthusiastic and excellent reviews. However, I realize everyone has less than stellar days on their job. There've been numerous extremely hot days in Kansas City this summer, and no doubt the heat has taken a bit of a toll on our staff. All in all, it is unfortunate that our tour guide and tour elements did not meet your expectations.

    Amazing

This was really, really cool. I thought I had a grasp on KC history already but Kelly was able to give some interesting facts. If you're undecided on whether to book the trip, just do it.

Kansas City Museums, Parks, and History Segway Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kansas City.

How much does Kansas City Museums, Parks, and History Segway Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kansas City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Kansas City Museums, Parks, and History Segway Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kansas City is not rushed.

Is Kansas City Museums, Parks, and History Segway Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 62 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Kansas City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Kansas City Museums, Parks, and History Segway Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Kansas City Museums, Parks, and History Segway Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Kansas City Museums, Parks, and History Segway Tour?

    +

Around 22 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kansas City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kansas City and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Kansas City Museums, Parks, and History Segway Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kansas City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kansas City?

    +

Kansas City runs barbecue tasting tours, 18th and Vine jazz history walks, World War I Museum visits, brewery crawls and fountain-hopping city tours. On Outty we rank every Kansas City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Escape Game at Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Kansas City Outlaws and Legends Tour, Kansas City Trolley Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kansas City?

    +

April to June and September to October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kansas City?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
