Choose this tour !!!
Loved every moment and every morsel!!! This was an excellent tour, and Cassie was the funnest, most knowledgeable, and pleasant guide. The pace was perfect, and every food choice excelled! The portions were well thought through, and the distance walked was perfect, along with a fun street car ride. ‘Would come back to do it again and ask for Cassie. 🌺
Response from the operator: Thank you for choosing us during your time here. We’re glad the tour provided a good balance of local food, conversation, and discovery. It was a pleasure welcoming you to Secret Food Tours!

Not what we signed up for....
The food was good, but the rest was very disappointing. In reading the "what to expect" portion of your description, the only thing we saw just a bit was the market, no musems at all. The guys were really looking forward to the Negro League Baseball museum. When we questioned the guide she was totally unfamiliar with your description of the tour. We had 12 in our group and guide had no microphone so only the couple people beside her could hear. We did tip our guide since it wasn't her fault that you had misrepresented the tour. Lost a lot of faith in your company. Certainly don't feel it was worth over $100/person.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your perspective with us. Some of our third-party resellers require us to indicate notable spots and points of interest in the area. While these may appear in the tour description, they are pass-by points rather than stops included in our food tour itinerary. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, as feedback like this helps us continue refining how we communicate the experience so guests have a clearer understanding of what to expect. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the food, which remains at the heart of the experience, and we hope you’ll consider joining us again in the future for the opportunity to provide you with an experience that better matches what you were hoping for.

Could be better, could be worse
I’ve been on a few different food tours now and this was by far the most active one I’ve been on. To be fair, it was quite warm (as we expected) which I’m sure made it feel longer than it was but none of the stops were particularly close to one another and it made for a long day. I enjoyed going to the stop near the market and wish we could have had a bit more time there. The food was good and we enjoyed trying things we wouldn’t typically order. Our last two stops were a little underwhelming in my opinion. A piece of chocolate that was beautiful was nice but ending with half a croissant felt a little anticlimactic. Our guide, Cassie was very sweet and I felt had a good mix of talking and keeping us moving.
Response from the operator: Thank you, Rebecca, for taking the time to share your feedback. Our Kansas City tour is thoughtfully curated to showcase a range of the local food scene while also giving guests the opportunity to explore different parts of downtown on foot, and we appreciate your perspective on the pacing, walking, and the way the experience finishes. Feedback like yours is useful as we continue refining the tour and considering how each stop contributes to the overall experience. We’d be very happy to welcome you back on another Secret Food Tour and give you another chance to explore with us!

Kansas City Downtown Food Tour with 5 Local Dishes: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kansas City.
How much does Kansas City Downtown Food Tour with 5 Local Dishes cost?
+
Prices start at $119 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kansas City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Kansas City Downtown Food Tour with 5 Local Dishes take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kansas City is not rushed.
Is Kansas City Downtown Food Tour with 5 Local Dishes worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Kansas City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Kansas City Downtown Food Tour with 5 Local Dishes?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Kansas City Downtown Food Tour with 5 Local Dishes suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Kansas City Downtown Food Tour with 5 Local Dishes?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kansas City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kansas City and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Kansas City Downtown Food Tour with 5 Local Dishes start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kansas City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kansas City?
+
Kansas City runs barbecue tasting tours, 18th and Vine jazz history walks, World War I Museum visits, brewery crawls and fountain-hopping city tours. On Outty we rank every Kansas City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Escape Game at Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Kansas City Outlaws and Legends Tour, Kansas City Trolley Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kansas City?
+
April to June and September to October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kansas City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
