    About this experience

●It's not just about sightseeing spots! The charm of Tokyo's back alleys! The starting point of the tour is a hikifune boat in downtown Tokyo. It is also close to Asakusa and Tokyo Skytree, making it easy to access. Cooling towels are provided for summer use.You will also get another bottle (or an ice cream) free of charge during the tour, in addition to the bottle you normally get for free. From March to April, cherry blossoms are in full bloom around the course. There are many points on the tour where you can run under the cherry blossoms. Also, during each stop, we dare to drive down alleyways instead of the big main street.Tokyo's streets are said to be more complicated and confusing than other cities, but with the help of a guide who knows the area well, you can get lost in the "maze" of downtown. ● Cycling to feel the streets of Edo There are many walks in Edo and around town, but not many tours by bicycle. You can enjoy the course slowly, imagining the streets of the Edo period, feel the wind and enjoy the speed of a light bicycle, or take a tour of Tokyo at the pace of the participants. Tandem bicycles for two passengers are also available upon request. Please apply in advance.

    Takeshi was a very nice...

Takeshi was a very nice guide. He took pictures along the way and explained the significance of each of the places we stopped. It was quite fun to see Tokyo from a bike and get to ride through residential neighborhoods alongside locals.

Response from the operator: Wow! Thank you for your great comments! It is so appreciated! I had a great time to cycle with you, too. See you again some time! Takeshi

    Unique tour with charm

Excellent bike tour of Tokyo! More interesting to go through back streets like locals to appreciate their lived experiences, & learn of unique spots that tourists would not discover on their own. Our guide was fabulous, knowledgeable & friendly!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your great comments! It is so appreciated! I hope you had a nice time during the tour. See you again some time! Takeshi

    Suspicious tour

We could make this tour. The Meeting Point was not correct. Provider gave us a second meeting place. This was not correct. Talked to provider. His English was not good. Tour was meant to be of Tokyo. Meeting place was in distance suburb. Strange that tour had 120 reviews, all but one 5 out of 5. Only one rating is 4.9. Reviews have similar wording. Have doubts.

Response from the operator: The reason the tour was a no-show is that you didn’t arrive at the designated meeting point by the agreed time. It seems you went to a completely different location, but that is your responsibility—I am not at fault. I waited for you at the tour office for over an hour, but you never showed up. It’s completely unacceptable for you to ignore your own responsibility and leave a negative review.

Awesome excursion. The family enjoyed to visits to various temples and back roads of Tokyo.

We loved touring around the back streets of Tokyo and learning about the different sites of worship. For non- cyclist in our group, 4 hours was a bit long… maybe cut it down to 3 hours + include a lite meal towards the end. Were we all pretty hungry when we finished. Our guide was super knowledgeable.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your great comments. It would be so appreciated. I also apologize the tour was bit too long for you. I will try to accomodate the contents for future customers. I hope you had a nice time during staying in Japan. See you again some time. Takeshi

Tokyo downtown bicycle tour Tokyo Backstreets Bike Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tokyo.

How much does Tokyo downtown bicycle tour Tokyo Backstreets Bike Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $12000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tokyo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tokyo downtown bicycle tour Tokyo Backstreets Bike Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tokyo is not rushed.

Is Tokyo downtown bicycle tour Tokyo Backstreets Bike Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 123 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tokyo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tokyo downtown bicycle tour Tokyo Backstreets Bike Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tokyo downtown bicycle tour Tokyo Backstreets Bike Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Tokyo downtown bicycle tour Tokyo Backstreets Bike Tour?

    +

Around 43 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tokyo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tokyo and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tokyo downtown bicycle tour Tokyo Backstreets Bike Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tokyo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tokyo?

    +

Tokyo is less a city than a stack of neighborhoods with completely different opening hours. A guided food crawl through Shinjuku's Omoide Yokocho gets you past the no-tourist curtains, while the day trips west to Hakone and Fuji need an early start to be worth the fare. Our ranking weighs guide quality heavily here, because in Tokyo the guide is the product. On Outty we rank every Tokyo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tokyo Shinjuku Chopsticks Making Class, Tokyo : Asakusa Chopsticks Making Class, Shinjuku Night Food and Bar Crawl. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tokyo?

    +

Late March to May for blossom, October to November for clear Fuji views. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tokyo?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
