A First-Rate Guide – Knowledgeable and Engaging
Roberto Musio is an incredibly friendly, knowledgeable guide, and he made our visit to Ravello truly memorable. He fascinated us with his explanations of Ravello's history, architecture, and evolution. I was especially taken with the beauty of the Villa Cimbrome and the Villa Rufulo plus the extraordinary views from their gardens of the Amalfi Coast and the dazzling Mediterranean Sea. He made sure we saw all the Ravello highlights and explained to us their history as he pointed out their defining characteristtics. It was all so richly informatives, yet not at all overwhelming. One other important point: There were some people with trouble walking in our little group, and Roberto was able to pace things just right for them while keeping all of us engaged with what he was saying along the way. A wonderful tour guide!

Town of Ravello visiting Villa Cimbrone
Combined this tour and the Amalfi Coast with Roberto commencing by boat from Salerno. Roberto continuously explained the sights of the Amalfi Coast and answered my questions regarding the scenery and topography. The town of Amalfi lies below Ravello and it was an excellent choice by Roberto to combine the two tours. Ravello is on my bucket list for the Dawn concert and annual musical festival held on a protruding stage over the Tyrrhenian Sea held at Villa Rufulo. The journey to Ravello covered several miles on twisting roads by taxi to Ravello's Piazza Duomo. Roberto pointed out interesting aspects of the central town as we started the trek up to the Villa Cimbrone. The walkway was challenging but steps well laid out. At the gardens of Villa Cimbrone, the effort to arrive at the gardens was rewarded with statuary and spectacular views of the Mediterranean and Amalfi coast Roberto carefully explained the history of the Villa's and pointed out notable shops and other interesting spots.

Exceptional Amalfi coast tour
Roberto took us along the Amalfi coast which included Positano, Amalfi and Rovello. He gauged the traffic and people congestion to get the most from our time. His historical knowledge was exceptional.

Ravello Walking Tour A++
Roberto was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable about Ravello and the region in general. He was also very flexible, and was willing to tailor the tour to my family’s specific needs. I would absolutely take another tour with him, and recommend him to anyone else.
Response from the operator: Thank you! It was my pleasure to guide you in my favorite town of the Amalfi Coast! See you next time!

A great afternoon!
Roberto was a great guide for our afternoon in Ravello! He is very knowledgeable about the history of the city, and is engaging and personable. He grew up on the Amalfi coast and has a PhD in archeology. He is a great resource! It was an easy-paced walk; there were some stairs throughout. All members of our party really enjoyed the tour.
Response from the operator: Ciao Jennifer! It was really my pleasure to meet you and guide all your party to my favorite town of the Amalfi Coast!

Why this scores 47
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
The Best of Ravello: Private Tour with an Expert Local Guide: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Pompeii.
How much does The Best of Ravello: Private Tour with an Expert Local Guide cost?
+
Prices start at $355 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Pompeii usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does The Best of Ravello: Private Tour with an Expert Local Guide take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Pompeii is not rushed.
Is The Best of Ravello: Private Tour with an Expert Local Guide worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Pompeii, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule The Best of Ravello: Private Tour with an Expert Local Guide?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is The Best of Ravello: Private Tour with an Expert Local Guide suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book The Best of Ravello: Private Tour with an Expert Local Guide?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pompeii can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pompeii and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does The Best of Ravello: Private Tour with an Expert Local Guide start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Pompeii within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Pompeii?
+
On Outty we rank every Pompeii experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Minivan Trip from Rome: Pompeii Tour & Lunch in Sorrento, Skip the Line Guided Tour of Pompeii Led by an Archaeologist, Explore Pompeii with an Archaeologist. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Pompeii?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Pompeii?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
