    About this experience

We operate in small groups for optimal comfort, making sure every person is well looked after. Our competent & passionate guides ensure nothing but great supervision throughout the trip. Office facilities available. Our guests can leave personal belongings with us and use bathroom facilities if needed. If you are a beginner, we will teach you how to paddle and use a snorkeling mask. The trip starts in the sandy beach area, making it easy to enter and exit the water. You will have an opportunity to spot wild bottlenose dolphins and sea turtles that frequently visit the area. We take your photos throughout the trip (not included in the price) so you can concentrate on the experience itself and enjoy your time in full presence. Important info for families with kids: Children under 11 years old go in the same kayak with parents/guardians and don't use a paddle. If a child has kayaking experience, is bigger and capable of paddling, they need to join the excursion as an adult.

So amazing I went twice in a week!

I had the most amazing time that I booked again and went twice in one week! The first time I went with my daughter and Manuel was our guide. As my daughter gets quite seasick, she struggled to paddle and therefore we were not able to paddle as fast as the rest of the group, but Manual ensured we all stayed together and did not get left behind. Despite her feeling very unwell she still describes the experience as amazing, particularly as we were able to see many dolphins in the wild up close. We also saw other marine wildlife whilst snorkelling, including a stingray which was amazing! I booked to go again a few days later and this time I went by myself. I was told that I could either go in a kayak with another solo visitor or I could go with the guide - who was Chris on this trip - which I was fine with. On this trip we also saw dolphins, and we were also fortunate enough to see several loggerhead turtles, one being mere meters away from my kayak! Knowing that I had come along a few days before, Chris kindly suggested we go to a different snorkelling location which was just as beautiful as the place we went to before but it was nice to see things from a different perspective One of the selling points for me before going on the trip was that it was advertised as small-group kayaking. On both occasions, our groups consisted of less than 10 people, and the experiences felt much more personal than what I would expect in a large group trip. The guides would tell us things as a group, as well as individually and were able to cater to our own individual experiences, which was so lovely. I saw other much larger kayaking groups whilst we we on our trip and I think I would’ve felt very overwhelmed being in groups of such sizes. Things to consider: - This trip does require you to have a relative level of fitness. Although I am active and physically fit in my day to day life, I found the first trip with my daughter particularly difficult as I had to paddle the kayak mostly by myself. The second trip with another person who could paddle was much easier. - You are able to take things aboard the kayak at your own risk. I was provided with a water bag and was warned this wouldn’t keep my things completely dry but it was to provide them with a safe space aboard the kayak My advice: - If you are someone who suffers with motion sickness, take medication beforehand if you can. - If you want to take your phone, buy a waterproof case beforehand - ideally one that floats in the unlikely case it drops into the ocean. - If you enjoy free-diving or just simply want to see more on your trip, I think it is worth taking flippers. Whilst googles, a snorkel and a life jacket are provided, flippers are not. I took my flippers on the second trip so I could swim deeper during the snorkelling part of the trip, and the guide was also able to get some really cool pictures and videos! - Photos are taken throughout the trip which cost €20 for you to receive digitally. In my opinion, it is well worth paying for as the photos I took myself were no where near as good as the ones taken by the guides. On both occasions, I received the photos within 24 hours of the trip. Overall, the experience was amazing and I would 100% recommend to anyone thinking of booking! I will definitely book again when I come back to Tenerife!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed and heartfelt review! The fact that you enjoyed the experience so much that you came back and joined us twice in one week truly means the world to our whole team. We’re especially happy to hear how Manuel looked after you and your daughter during the first trip, making sure you never felt rushed or left behind. We understand that kayaking can be challenging when feeling unwell, so we’re glad you still managed to enjoy the experience together. It’s wonderful that the snorkeling and marine life made those moments even more special! And what a pleasure it was to welcome you back for your second trip! Chris was delighted to show you a different snorkeling spot and create a slightly different experience for you. We’re so glad you enjoyed discovering a new part of the coastline and had another memorable day on the water. Your comments about our small groups are particularly appreciated. We genuinely believe smaller groups allow our guides to pay attention to each person, adapt to different abilities and make the experience feel much more personal. It’s great to know that this came across during both of your trips. Thank you as well for sharing your practical tips with future guests. Your advice about motion sickness, waterproof phone protection, bringing fins and the optional photo package is incredibly helpful. Most importantly, thank you for trusting us with two special days of your holiday. We’ll be absolutely delighted to see you again when you return to Tenerife!

    Kayak and Snorkel

Chris was excellent! We saw dolphins, hammerhead shark, turtles and octopus. Fantastic day. It was quite physically demanding as we were going against the wind but well worth it.

Tenerife: Small-Group Kayak & Snorkel Tour with Marine Fauna: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tenerife.

How much does Tenerife: Small-Group Kayak & Snorkel Tour with Marine Fauna cost?

    +

Prices start at $41 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tenerife usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Tenerife: Small-Group Kayak & Snorkel Tour with Marine Fauna take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tenerife is not rushed.

Is Tenerife: Small-Group Kayak & Snorkel Tour with Marine Fauna worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 44 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tenerife, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Tenerife: Small-Group Kayak & Snorkel Tour with Marine Fauna?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Tenerife: Small-Group Kayak & Snorkel Tour with Marine Fauna suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Tenerife: Small-Group Kayak & Snorkel Tour with Marine Fauna?

    +

Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tenerife can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tenerife and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Tenerife: Small-Group Kayak & Snorkel Tour with Marine Fauna start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tenerife within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tenerife?

    +

On Outty we rank every Tenerife experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whale watching & listening Eco-Catamaran Tour with Snacks &Drinks, Group Surfing Lesson at Playa de las Américas, Tenerife, 3-hour Whale and Dolphin Watching and Listening Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tenerife?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tenerife?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
