What you get
About this experience
For a breathtaking and unique adventure, look no further than the Telluride Via Ferrata. This classic via ferrata route is a high-alpine traverse that precariously travels rock faces up to 600 feet above the valley floor below, exhilaratingly exposed in sections that would be impassable without the steel cables and holds along the way. The Telluride Via Ferrata provides unmatched views of Bridal Veil Falls (the highest free-falling waterfall in Colorado), the town of Telluride, and the surrounding peaks of the San Juan Mountains.

Maddie is an amazing guide!
I am 58 and was doing the Via with my 28 year old daughter. Maddie was so calm and encouraging, coaching me through the entire experience. She had a lot of knowledge and experience, and made us both feel safe!

Via Ferrata Fun
Our guide Chris was excellent! Competent in his craft, knowledgeable about the area's history and geology, engaging and fun, and of course intimately familiar with the via ferrata course. Can't recommend him enough. Would certainly consider using him again for more via ferrata fun or perhaps some backcountry skiing in the winter.
Response from the operator: Hey, thanks for the love! We couldn't agree more, Chris IS an excellent guide. It's great to hear that you had such an awesome experience with him on the Telluride Via Ferrata. We hope you'll join us (and him) for some backcountry skiing this winter! Unforgettable private via ferrata experience!
I booked a private via ferrata climb and cannot recommend it enough. The route itself was challenging enough to be a blast, but the iron rungs, cables, and overall trail were exceptionally well maintained. I felt safe and secure the entire time, which made it easy to just focus on the climb and amazing views. A massive shoutout to my guide, Chris, who completely made the trip! Since I was climbing solo, having a guide who is incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely nice made all the difference. He had a great way of making me feel comfortable and confident on the wall. You can tell he really knows what he is doing and truly cares about the experience. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. If you are booking this climb, definitely ask for Chris!
Response from the operator: Hey, thanks for the amazing review! Chris is an exceptional guide and we're glad you enjoyed your experience with him on the Telluride Via Ferrata. It's high time in the San Juans right now. We hope to get out with you again in the future! Cheers, The Mountain Trip Team

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Telluride Via Ferrata - Private Trip: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Telluride.
How much does Telluride Via Ferrata - Private Trip cost?
+
Prices start at $219 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Telluride usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Telluride Via Ferrata - Private Trip take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Telluride is not rushed.
Is Telluride Via Ferrata - Private Trip worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 91 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 225 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Telluride, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.
Can I cancel or reschedule Telluride Via Ferrata - Private Trip?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Telluride Via Ferrata - Private Trip suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Telluride Via Ferrata - Private Trip?
+
Around 79 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Telluride can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Telluride and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Telluride Via Ferrata - Private Trip start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Telluride within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Telluride?
+
Telluride, CO packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Telluride by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Telluride experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Telluride 1 Day Rafting Trip with Lunch - San Miguel River, Telluride Morning Half Day Rafting Trip - San Miguel River, Telluride Afternoon Half Day Rafting Trip - San Miguel River. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Telluride?
+
Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Telluride, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Telluride?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
