What you'll see and do
Taos Plaza
Taos Plaza's history dates back to 1796 when the King of Spain granted land to 63 families, making it the area's main settlement after Taos Pueblo. The plaza was designed as a fortified village, with homes in large quadrangles and a central gate. It served as a refuge for livestock and a hub for trade fairs. While many buildings were lost to fire, those around the plaza today largely date from the 1930s. Now the heart of the Taos Historic District, the plaza hosts live music, farmers markets, and is a popular spot for shopping and galleries.

La Hacienda del los Martinez
La Hacienda de los Martinez, built in 1804, is a rare example of a northern New Mexico-style "Great House" from the Spanish Colonial period. Once a trade center, it features massive adobe walls and was home to Severino Martinez, his wife Maria, and their six children, including the notable Padre Antonio Martinez. Padre Antonio was a key social reformer, founding New Mexico's first coeducational school and introducing the first printing press to Taos. Today, the Hacienda offers a glimpse into 1800s frontier life with 21 rooms around two courtyards and traditional arts and crafts demonstrations.

In 1923, Russian-American artist Nicolai Fechin and his family emigrated to the U.S. and later moved to Taos in 1926 at the invitation of Mabel Dodge Luhan. In 1927, they purchased the home of Dr. J.J. Bergmans. However, the two-story adobe house didn’t meet their needs, so they decided to remodel. Over the next five years, Nicolai, with the help of masons from Taos Pueblo, transformed the house into their ideal home using a cardboard model to guide the process.

A nice day for a ride.
This is a half day tour. Our guide Michelle was knowledgeable and personable. The tour itself was mostly riding and less about seeing historic sites. Be prepared to ride on a lot of gravel roads (a Taos thing I guess). It is truly a "ride" about 17 miles though not taxing. A couple of the stops were not open, (too early). The most interesting site was the Hacienda De Los Martinez a Trading post that is immersive in what trading in the 1800's in the area looked like. All in all, a nice day, though a bit pricy from a value perspective.
Response from the operator: Thank you for riding with us and for sharing your thoughtful feedback. We’re delighted you enjoyed Michelle’s knowledge and company, as well as the immersive history of Hacienda de los Martinez. Our Taos E-Bike Tour is intentionally designed as an active exploration, covering approximately 17 miles through historic neighborhoods, backroads, and the varied terrain that reveals a different side of Taos. We appreciate your perspective on the balance of riding and stops, as feedback like yours helps us continue refining the experience and communicating its character clearly to future guests. Thank you for exploring Taos with Heritage Inspirations!

Fantastic Ebike Tour with Diego!
We had a great time on the ebike tour around Taos! The mountain views were beautiful, and riding an ebike was the perfect way to explore the area without feeling exhausted by the end. Our guide, Diego, was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and made safety a priority throughout the tour, which made my husband and I comfortable and confident. The ebikes were easy to ride, even if you’ve never used one before. I’d definitely recommend this tour, especially for beginners or anyone looking for a fun, relaxed way to experience Taos. It was one of the highlights of our trip!
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We love hearing that exploring Taos by e-bike struck the perfect balance between adventure and ease, allowing you to soak in those expansive mountain views without missing a moment. It means so much to know Diego helped you feel comfortable and confident from the very beginning. Creating an experience where guests can simply enjoy the ride while learning about the rich history and culture of Taos is exactly what we hope to achieve! We're especially delighted this became one of the highlights of your trip. Thank you for choosing Heritage Inspirations to be part of your New Mexico adventure, and we hope the memories of Taos stay with you long after you've returned home.

Inspired by Heritage Inspirations
The trip was delightful, and even though we live in Taos, we stopped at places we didn’t know about, and Kailee knew things we didn’t know about the places and their history. Kailee went at our pace, and was very personable and enthusiastic. It was our first experience on e-bikes, and it was a good one! We’re going to recommend Heritage Inspiration tours to visiting friends and family members, but it’s also a great way to enjoy one’s hometown!
Response from the operator: Thank you for such a wonderful review and joining our Taos E-Bike Tour There is no greater compliment than hearing from Taos locals who discover new places and stories in their own community. We're delighted Kailey made your first e-bike experience such an enjoyable one. Her enthusiasm, local knowledge, and thoughtful approach to meeting guests at their own pace are exactly what we hope every Heritage Inspirations experience reflects. Thank you for recommending us to your visiting friends and family. We look forward to welcoming you back for another opportunity to experience Taos through a fresh perspective.

Fun scenic ebike tour
Michelle did a great job taking us thru the back roads of Taos. We were able to see parts of Taos that we would never have gotten to. The bikes were easy and fun to ride. Highly recommend!
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience with Heritage Inspirations! Exploring Taos along its quieter roads offers a perspective that feels both intimate and expansive, and we are so glad that came through in your ride. Michelle has a wonderful way of guiding guests into those lesser seen corners of Taos, where the landscape and culture reveal themselves more naturally. We are delighted to hear the ride felt effortless and enjoyable. It is exactly the balance we hope to create. We truly appreciate your recommendation and are grateful you chose to explore Taos with us.

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Taos E-Bike Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Taos.
How much does Taos E-Bike Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $207 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Taos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Taos E-Bike Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Taos is not rushed.
Is Taos E-Bike Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 42 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Taos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Taos E-Bike Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Taos E-Bike Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Taos E-Bike Tour?
+
Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Taos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Taos and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Taos E-Bike Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Taos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Taos?
+
Taos, NM packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Taos by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Taos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Far Flung Adventures Rio Grande Racecourse, Racecourse half day class 3 most popular in New Mexico, Far Flung Adventures Scenic Half-Day Float. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Taos?
+
Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Taos, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Taos?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
