Memorable private tour with knowledgeable local
Scott was fantastic! From the time he picked us up to the time he dropped us off, he was professional, accommodating, and eager to share his love of Sydney with us. He’s a an attentive driver; we always felt safe in his car and with him driving. He took great care to take us to fantastic scenic spots to see different views and perspectives, including the harbor bridge, opera house, skyline, beaches, navy base, historic buildings, and more. We had a delicious lunch at Bondi Beach and enjoyed a courtesy drink at 1 of 4 “oldest” pubs in Sydney. Scott shared so much history, culture, stories, and experiences with us during our day. Thank you for sharing Sydney with us.
Response from the operator: Dear Rachel and Chuck, It my pleasure to meet you both and host you for your Sydney Private Day Tour. Thank you for taking the time to write a review and share your experience with other travellers. You certainly saw a lot of Sydney during the tour and we hope to see you back in Sydney one day in the future. Wishing all the very best for the rest of your travels! Kind Regards Scott and Julia Sydney Private Day Tours

An excellent day out
Scott was an absolutely fantastic host for this trip. For a 32C spring day we certainly had summer sun and the water provided certainly came in handy. Everything ran extremely smoothly and the contact made the night before about possible changes due to city closures was appreciated. This is a very large city and this tour was a great way to get oriented, especially, if like me, it's your first time in the area. I learned a lot from Scott - from the history of the area to fun little tid bits about certain buildings he is clearly very knowledgeable. I didn't have any particular sites I wanted to see more than others but the option to customise the day was always there. I can be a bit weary of doing solo private tours but Scott was fun and personable which really made the day go by quickly. The SUV was clean and comfortable and I felt right at home hopping in and out all day. Truly a pleasure! (Bring a hat, that sun is rough)
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am so glad you had a wonderful time and got to know the 'real Sydney'. It was definitely a very warm Spring day for the tour and Sydney certainly turned on perfect weather for the day! We do a lot of Private Tours for Solo Travellers which can be a fabulous way to get to see so much more of the city and beautiful surrounding sights, beaches, bays and city attractions. It was a pleasure to meet you and host you during your stay in Sydney. Wishing you all the best with your travels around Australia! Kind Regards Scott and Julia Sydney Private Day Tours

Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sydney Private Day Tours | See Sydney in Style | 8 Hour Luxury Private Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sydney.
How much does Sydney Private Day Tours | See Sydney in Style | 8 Hour Luxury Private Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $295 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sydney usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sydney Private Day Tours | See Sydney in Style | 8 Hour Luxury Private Tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sydney is not rushed.
Is Sydney Private Day Tours | See Sydney in Style | 8 Hour Luxury Private Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sydney, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sydney Private Day Tours | See Sydney in Style | 8 Hour Luxury Private Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sydney Private Day Tours | See Sydney in Style | 8 Hour Luxury Private Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sydney Private Day Tours | See Sydney in Style | 8 Hour Luxury Private Tour?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sydney can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sydney and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sydney Private Day Tours | See Sydney in Style | 8 Hour Luxury Private Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sydney within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sydney?
+
On Outty we rank every Sydney experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include WILD Wombat and Kangaroo Day Tour, All Inclusive, Depart Syd: Blue Mountains Best All Inclusive with Local Guide, Blue Mountain Small Group Tour All Inclusive. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sydney?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sydney?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
