Not a gondola. Pretty unorganized, but great sunset views.

Overall, not what we expected but we ended up having fun and enjoying it. A “traditional Venetian boat” is not a gondola like many tourists might assume. The boat has a motor which made it nearly impossible to understand anything he said. It was also very splashy and we weren’t prepared to get wet (so be prepared). He seemed disorganized and didn’t have cups for the prosecco, so had to stop and get cups midway through (which also meant no prosecco for the first 30 minutes). Once the cups were obtained, we had ample prosecco for the rest of the trip. The sunset views were gorgeous and got some great pictures. Lastly, the pick up address is incorrect. We stood outside the building and eventually had to call him to find the appropriate pick up spot.

    Really great cruise....

Really great cruise. Going to a very different part of Venice. Just 4 of us and so good, Prosecco flowed but Marco stopped to get my husband who doesn’t drink a soft drink.

    No show, No call

The tour guide never showed up or contacted us. We messaged them and never got a response. Don’t waste your valuable vacation time waiting on this tour.

    An absolutely amazing experience.

Listen to me. This was an incredibly fun experience. Marco is a gem. The Proseco flows. The boat is unlike any other. It’s much more intimate than the giant tour boats you see in the canals and lagoons. It’s like you’re transported back to a simpler time. You can reach over the side of the boat and touch the water. You can stand up and hold onto the mast. It’s special. You’ll go places you wouldn’t expect. Marco took us to a Sicialian pizza stand on a remote island. He bargained for more Proseco and asked to make sure it was cold. The guy is like a pirate captain with Prada sunglasses. He’s Anthony Bourdain as a boat captain. This was an amazing experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Beautiful Sunset Cruise with Wonderful Captain

This boat ride was the highlight of our time in Venice. Our captain arrived a bit late, but more than made up for it with a bit of an extended tour and lots of Prosecco! The meeting point was a bit difficult to find as the building number provided was not the exact spot; however, the captain called to confirm the meeting point (The small bar in front of the hotel Experimental). We were able to see so many parts of Venice that we had missed by just walking on foot. Be prepared for a few splashes as you cross the larger canals and head into the ocean, but they were welcome in the summer heat! We would highly recommend this tour, just contact the Captain a day or 2 in advance to verify the time and meeting point.

Sunset Traditional Boat Tour with Prosecco: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Venice.

How much does Sunset Traditional Boat Tour with Prosecco cost?

    +

Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Venice usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sunset Traditional Boat Tour with Prosecco take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Venice is not rushed.

Is Sunset Traditional Boat Tour with Prosecco worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 45 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Venice, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sunset Traditional Boat Tour with Prosecco?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sunset Traditional Boat Tour with Prosecco suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sunset Traditional Boat Tour with Prosecco?

    +

Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Venice can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Venice and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sunset Traditional Boat Tour with Prosecco start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Venice within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Venice?

    +

On Outty we rank every Venice experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pasta and Tiramisu Cooking Class with Wine in Venice, Eating Venice Small Group Food & Drinks Tour, Venice Bacaro Food Tour: Eat and Drink like a Venetian. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Venice?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Venice?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
