Fabulous tour of the Sile River and the Venice Lagoon

We were interested in seeing the Sile River, so we asked CBV for a tour of the river. Carl, the owner, responded that we had made the most unusual request this year--and proposed an itinerary that began on the Sile but then progressed into the lagoon. We were more interested in the natural areas, so the tour Carl proposed combined that with several very worthwhile areas of the lagoon. CBV set everything up for us--the meeting place at Casale sul Sile with our guide Mike, where we were able to visit a church that dated from Roman times (but had been destroyed in one of Venice's many wars, rebuilt in the 1800s and containing frescoes by Tiepolo). Mike was a great guide--a native New Yorker no less--who caught on quickly to what we were interested in and guided us accordingly. After eventually passing into the lagoon, Mike showed us several of the islands--Torcello, where CBV arranged for an excellent lunch and a visit to the oldest cathedral in Venice, Burano with its colorful houses, Murano with its glass factories, where CBV arranged a private tour, the Franciscan island once visited by St. Francis of Assisi, the island on which most of Venice's produce is grown, and more. We finished at San Marco Square. Because CBV's license does not permit them to take clients through the Grand Canal, CBV arranged for us to transfer to a water taxi so that we could finish the tour seeing the amazing buildings along the Grand Canal. We were taken care of extremely well and thoroughly enjoyed our experience!

Sweet Molly was pretty darn sweet -

Had a great day out on the waters of the north Lagoon. Wonderful way to finish our family trip to Italy and Venice. Our captain Matteo was great and very knowledgable of the area. The boat was well kept and eye candy for everyone, everywhere we went. If you are in Venice, you owe yourself a day on the water with SweetMolly.

A perfect day on the lagoon!

For starters, the Classic Boats team were wonderful to work with. Answered all my questions and helped me to book a glass class in Murano. We had lunch at Cipriani in Tocello which was their suggestion and was SO GOOD. We saw the beautiful vibrant island of Burano and got to explore it a bit. We enjoyed Prosecco on board with some cheese and meat. My partner swam in the lagoon, although it’s a VERY strong current so be sure you’re a strong swimmer! Our driver was very nice and chill and cruised us around to see all the highlights. We ended the day by catching part of the sunset which was beautiful. Sweet Molly is a very cool boat, although it doesn’t have a covering so got a bit warm at times in the summer sun. There is no bathroom on board, but our stops were spaced out perfectly so that was never an issue for us. I surprised my partner with this trip for her birthday and we had an amazing time. Highly recommend!

Sweet Molly Venetian Lagoon Boat Tour (7 hours): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Venice.

How much does Sweet Molly Venetian Lagoon Boat Tour (7 hours) cost?

+

Prices start at $2000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Venice usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sweet Molly Venetian Lagoon Boat Tour (7 hours) take?

+

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Venice is not rushed.

Is Sweet Molly Venetian Lagoon Boat Tour (7 hours) worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 42 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Venice, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sweet Molly Venetian Lagoon Boat Tour (7 hours)?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Sweet Molly Venetian Lagoon Boat Tour (7 hours) suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sweet Molly Venetian Lagoon Boat Tour (7 hours)?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Venice can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Venice and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sweet Molly Venetian Lagoon Boat Tour (7 hours) start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Venice within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Venice?

+

On Outty we rank every Venice experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pasta and Tiramisu Cooking Class with Wine in Venice, Eating Venice Small Group Food & Drinks Tour, Venice Bacaro Food Tour: Eat and Drink like a Venetian. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Venice?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Venice?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
